@Panther Thanks for the speedy answer… feels like a strategy that might make me unpopular but if it’s legitimate then I suppose it’s fair game.
The KAR/CAU NO vs the "No US/UK in Russia" NO
-
I think it is interesting to see how several NO’s “overlap”, or are mutually exclusive (is proper english?)
For example, if Allies take Fra, not only do they gain +10IPC in bonus income, they also deny Germany 5IPC in bonus income… :-oHowever, my question regard these two NO’s:
Germany
- Axis control of either of: Karelia S.S.R. or Caucasus = 5 IPCs
Soviet Union
- Allied control of Archangelsk + no UK or US units on Soviet-controlled territories= 5 IPCs
Question:
If KAR falls, would you be prepared to forfeit the Russian NO above, by liberating it with UK/US Troops. My own answer to that question would be a resounding YES. This it would be for two reasons:
- You forfeit 5 IPC, to deny the enemy 5 IPC… (rather straightforward)
but ALSO: - You deny the enemy the chance to build units directly on the front line
It seems like a no-brainer to me. But maybe some else has some other take on this issue?

The bonuses countering each other stuff only works if germans cannot retake Kar, but if the target is not letting germans build at kar, I agree.
