i would use this as a template to modify your interpretation of what should be done.
Note: the german destroyer in south atlantic represents the pocket battleship Graf Spee. I think it presents a few options for the german player.

I am going to rewrite the rules is less dry language and w/o historical explanations and in a more aesthetic treatment. Something better than what Avalon hill did with the revised rules booklet. All charts will have more color and be less bland.
I feel some of the concepts are possibly too complicated and may detract from even greater popularity.
Many of these are not explained in an easy manner unless you have alot of experience playing other wargames and the goal was to make it an easy transition to “jump right in” if you already understand the OOB rules. I don’t feel our rules are in the perfect place YET.

So AARHE 1939 will sort of like a simplified version of AARHE?
I guess it can be easier for new players. The historicial explanation and optional national advantages and optional national victory made it 50 pages. I guess a simplified version could be just 10 pages.

Well not 10 pages but the rules alone could be under 15 games. The NA’s cannot be truncated
I will remove all those historical explanations are lighten up the language… its too dry.
also, too many blank lines in between subjects make it to be too much to read.
I hate the fact that somebody would look at it and say “they went too far with these changes”
… “its not even the same game”…
lots of aesthetics will draw them in as well. Ill see to it.

Ill get them posted when the rewrite is done. The text is done but i need to make the pages.
Download the map file with the set up and have a look at the setup for changes.
