L25 G40 OOB Gamerman01 (x) v VictoryFirst (+50)
-
Against better judgment, Gamerman01 accepts Axis against a +50 bid that includes 4 Russian planes.
Victory says he’s “only played against his teddy bears” and that his sister beat him twice.
Obviously a hustler, but I bite every time. -

Haha, not even teddy bears or sisters! I simply put a mirror at the other side of the table, and played against that!

You are wielding awesome power with the USSR
When players were talking about how bids needed to be a lot larger than the 25 we used to play, I think of Russia and what I could do with all that extra money that would just plain stuff the German advance.
Well I can’t say too much because I’m only beginning to play with these 40-50 bids, so we’ll see.In BM and I think OOB, subs to 106, 91, 98, and sub or fighter to 111 are all common. With a little dice assist, you paid the price, but with your bid in the USSR, it is up to the reds to put the hurt on and keep the Huns 1,000 miles from Moscow, Stalingrad, and Caucasus oil fields.
No pressure!

I am really liking my new, very unconventional, G1. But I am doing it in 3 games and in this one and the GovZ I just started, I have yet to see it play out. Trying something new in multiple games can make you regret multiple times because you haven’t learned the downside yet. Of course, if the Paris AA all misses me it looks great.

Namely, a battleship and 2 cruisers in 110. But any time you attack a potential 3 plane scramble where they don’t have to scramble, you’re committing a lot of extra material that is wasted if they don’t scramble. But the ships to 92 UK1 could be a big problem. Plus, the French ship can’t attack with the British ones.
I could always go on if you want, but I’ll cut 'er off

To me it looks like you did a good G1 naval attack, although I always find it weird when Germany buys naval units. Naval units don’t help you capture Moscow! But I am curious to see how it plays out.
-
But also who am I to judge, I always lose against myself as the Axis, so that’s why I’m playing you 😛 Please destroy me with your navy buy!

Thank you, I have no idea what people normally use as bid so I just spent it on my favorite units - Russian air units! LOL I don’t know any A&A version where Russia wouldn’t be happy to have a large air force.
-
I’m not used to sinking 106 and 91 like in the old days when we had almost no bid, and no one’s used to 7 Russian planes at the beginning, even though some of them are obviously going to China temporarily.
I know I will respond to the Yunnan gambit better this game than my first time a year ago, in no small part because that game we were just having fun trying out a radically different looking map. That game is still on-going.
-
So this game will be very exciting with the bid change, it’s impossible that it would not be, no matter what the dice and no matter what we decide over the rest of the world. Can’t wait to see the UK turn. Luckily, I’m playing a fanatic
