@The_Good_Captain The rule applies in all sea battles where there are sea units allied to the attacker present, regardless of the type(s) of defending German sea units. The rule mentions only German subs because the author failed to take into account the possibility that the situation could also exist with German surface units if they were mobilized in a hostile sea zone. This oversight was corrected in the Axis & Allies Pacific Rulebook.
A lone fighter defending against an SBR
-
I got a good question that might even stump you, @Krieghund !
Situation: There is a factory with only one fighter. I send a bomber to SBR. I also send one infantry to attack the territory. The defender chooses to defend the SBR with the fighter. What happens to the fighter after the infantry attacks?
The fighter can only do one thing. Nothing in the rules states that the fighter must defend the land battle rather than the SBR. Does the fighter self-destruct after the SBR since it can’t land?

@kwaspek104 The fighter is eliminated.

Wow. Thank you.
