Not ashamed to say I poured myself a stiff one after that battle. You don’t plan for a 4 in 10000 result.

I know it’s hard to to give a real analysis due to the dice results, but if you don’t mind sharing your expertise - what of the concept of hitting 95 instead of the normal taranto?
The cat is out of the bag and a corpse now, so I don’t think anything you write will undermine your position in this game.
@mainah seen this move a few times. I would say this I handle the med one of two ways depending on the bid. If I stack enough of the bid I do Toronto as 97 I believe. You get the capital ships and convoy Italy right off the bat. I can understand wanting to save your boats or play more conservative so the alternative is an airport in Gibraltar and block Egypt out while stacking on the inside of Gibraltar. This requires Italy to hold Algeria with a careful amount of units all over to ensure you make it to turn two. Seazone 97 or the other side you hit has only two boats you can take down and your value of a cruiser sub is nearly the value of my dest cruiser. Doing this move in the future I would bid a destroyer in Gibraltar to ensure you kill the sub as well. This all being said I don’t have all the awnsers and often times keeping your opponents off guard is good strategy in itself. Happy hunting.
