I screwed up and didn’t move the sub from the Channel to SZ92. How would that have changed It1? Take Cyprus? Still build a DD?

I have never seen a successful Amur stack in a League game. Perhaps there is some way to make it work with a large Allied bid.

It seems any Allied strategy needs a large bid to work.

Would you happen to know of any league games with an Amur stack I can look at? I’m not sure I’ve seen it in a while.

It probably is a deadend, but I wouldn’t mind testing it out.

@govz I still would have built a DD and taken Gibraltar on Italy 1 even with a UK sub in SZ92. I would need a plane to support the transport, but that still gave me good enough odds to take Greece.

A plane can’t clear the SZ. You would need to bring a boat.

Here is how I would respond to the KJF opener. I don’t think it was worth sending your ANZAC forces where you sent them. Java was not held strongly enough to be much of a nuisance.

I still don’t feel it makes sense sending the Med fleet to the Pacific.

Here is how I would respond to the KJF opener. I don’t think it was worth sending your ANZAC forces where you sent them. Java was not held strongly enough to be much of a nuisance.

I still don’t feel it makes sense sending the Med fleet to the Pacific

I get it, but I’m assuming Japan will cut ANZAC’s bonus by taking Malaya J2. At worst it costs me 1 ipc, and I might get to kill an inf or transport. I find it annoying as Japan to have to fight to take Java, instead of just being able to walk in. Most of these moves are what I find annoying as Japan.

Nothing in any version of this game annoys me more as Japan than having to deal with an Indian Ocean fleet.

You missed several rounds of the New Guinea bonus which would have been worth 15 or more PUs. That is a nice economic boost for ANZAC

Just turn 2 and the Italians with 28 income, the Allied forces in the Atlantic very minimal, and Russia heading back to Moscow to turtle while the Germans run rampant. Meanwhile no secondary line being built in the Middle East to prevent a push by the Axis.

That looks about right. I don’t think India will fall. The IJN gets counter attacked, and the remaining boats then have to fight their way back to a NB.

And you are probably correct about Europe, but Axis tend to win anyway.

@govz 60 bid should be very balanced and certainly shouldn’t show such an easy Axis win so early in the game for a good strategy.

Compare your plan vs a more conventional Allied play in a playoff game. I would say that the Allies are in a better position after three turns, although superior gameplay by the Axis player is allowing him to make a strong comeback in turn 18. Still uncertain who will eventually win.
