Thanks! I can’t wait to test what you said in your videos.
That being said though, I am nervous about this:
How can I win using the Allied strategies you created? Since you yourself created them you should have no problem countering them. Kinda hard to beat someone with their own weapon.
Is this concern valid? Or do you think that your turn openers, while important, aren’t necessarily decisive by itself? Thank you!
The openers are still very competitive in my opinion in spite of my knowledge of them. Roughly half of the moves you see in those videos are not even my own but something I saw someone else do. They’re sort-of a mish-mash of plagiarized moves that survive game to game and player to player. But there is still a lot of time before it is clear who is ‘winning’ this game. Having a perfect opener is still not likely to save a less skilled player from a more skilled player, even if the less skilled player is on the side that is more favorably balanced (imo).
All this to say: if you see something you like and feel comfortable with in those videos, take it. If you think you can do something better or aren’t comfortable a certain move, try something else. =)

Is it too early to say that I did something wrong?
If not, would you please tell me what I did wrong?
I feel the UK should not lose India and should not let the Ottomans into Africa. The income of the CP is currently very much in their favor. It do no see how it can be recovered at this point. The total unit value (TUV) of CP vs Entente pieces on the board is 720-CP to 610-Entente. The Entente should have 200 or more IPC greater than the CP to remain competitive (this 200 IPC difference is to account for their naval fleets as navy essentially do not participate in land combats where the IPC are).
-
Thanks! Since what I’m doing clearly isn’t working, I might integrate some of what you say into my Allied strategies.
Also, we know that the Allies won World War 1. How viable is it to do exactly what the Entente did historically as their strategy for this game? Will this work or not work?
-
Ah well, we can play again once this one is done.
Say, what are your thoughts on Global 1940? Would you be interested in playing that one?

The Germans attacked in Belgium and scored 17 hits. How do you want them allocated here? (my purchase is in the bottom right - the only other combats were in Switzerland and Holland).

I um, didn’t follow some of the rules, but it’s mostly correct. The second one used low luck.
What did both sides do wrong and right? Did low luck help the Central Powers, or was it simply that they were extremely lucky to trigger the Revolution in turn 4?

G10.tsvg A couple of notes. First, when Rome fell, the mine in the adjacent waters flipped control to the Austrians and so the American units that entered the sea zone should have all had to roll for mines. I forgot to make the edit when I captured the capital but just an FYI going forward.
The other note - and this is okay bc its a learning game - but going forward, you’ll want to try to avoid changing moves from previous turns. In this case, swapping the French out of Venice and into Tuscany and then having the Americans take Tuscany. Again we will go with this for this game but in case you did not know this - that American army is now stuck there on its turn. Units in a contested zone can only move to adjacent zones their individual power owns OR a territory that has at least one of their powers pieces in it. All the zones around the Americans are from other powers and there are no American units adjacent in the territory so they will just be stuck there next turn. This is a small rule that bites players time and time again. So just a heads up.

That’s all right. Take your time.
-
Wait, what? I thought that you could withdraw from a contested zone into a friendly power’s territory. Didn’t know I needed a unit there.
Crap, I got so many rules wrong.

From page 15 of the rulebook, “Land units that begin the turn in contested territories can only be moved to territories that are controlled by your power, or to territories that are also contested and already contain units belonging to your power.”
-
@superbattleshipyamato so the rule is actually more specific than I even realized as the only two conditions for movement out of a contested zone are a territory of the same power OR an adjacent CONTESTED zone with units of the same power - a friendly adjacent territory with a unit of your power is not legal as I mentioned previously.
