One thing I like to do as well is to have a transport or two in sea zone 8, then ferry forces from the US directly to Ireland (it only takes 1 turn for ships to move from there), then onwards to Picardy or Brest (the transports in sea zone 8 bridging). They can also move into sea zone 9 and desposit them in Belgium depending on the situation.
A WW1 Cargo Ship model

I think A&A WW1 could use a Cargo Ship playing piece. The Passenger Liner playing piece is fine for transporting Infantry but, really, doesn’t look right to transport any other non- naval playing piece. Hence, I designed along with a 3D printer hobbyist a ‘Cargo Ship’ which resembles a WW1 cargo ship that does not look the same as a WW2 transport. The Cargo Ship is able, like the Passenger Ship, to carry a combination of two units. Note: the Passenger Ship - the Passenger liner playing piece may only carry Infantry.

Cool! I feel like a passenger ship will have to either be cheaper or faster than a transport.

I envision the Cargo Ship & the Passenger Liner to be the same cost, same move although you make a point - the Cargo Ship could cost less & move one sea space less. This is possible.

@feaborn TableGameWiz on Shapeways has a Freighter model you might want to look at.

Nice.

@arreghas I already have the required ‘Cargo Ships’ in 8 colours so I don’t need to look at another version.
