  • @tincanofthesea I believe you are right - it would be rather difficult to turn the game.

    Maybe try next time to make Japan’s life a bit harder. I believe you have never taken any one of the money islands. ANZAC could do that. Of course it is annoying to constantly lose a transport and two units, when Japan takes the island back. But it is even more annoying for Japan to fight for these bonus points over and over again.

    We can switch sides and play again, whenever you want. And ideally when you actually have more time to play ;-)

  • @tincanofthesea I think you defended Moscow well. But this always comes at the risk that Germany will make an expedition towards Persia to collect nice bonus IPCs and ideally spread towards Egypt and even Africa/India. This should be anticipated and prepared by the British.

    While Germany was busy preparing to take Moscow, you rightly prepared an invasion in Europe with the US and the UK. It was not really worrying for me though, as there was no replenishment. Once Germany fought off the invaders, it was all quiet on the Western front. Once you invade Western Europe, continuous replenishment must be ensured.

    I suggest that you try to get some juicy extra bonus IPCs with Russia by conquering Axis and Axis-neutral territories. Taking Iraq brings 2 IPCs + 3 bonus IPCs. Ideally there will be a British transport waiting, next round, to bring Russian troops to SZ76 where Russia can earn another 3 bonus IPCs.

    At the same time, a Russian unit can move westwards towards Tobruk and Libya. Allied planes can execute any defenders. In total, Russia can (theoretically) can get an extra 15 IPCs with these territories.

    But do not do this at the cost of a worse defense of Moscow. Two units, max four must suffice. The Allies can “prepare” the territories in question by attacking and killing some but not all of the defenders. And the Axis will certainly try to prevent this Russian adventure from being successful :-)
