Sending loaded transports from USA to Gibraltar. How many turns does it take before cargo can be off loaded

If you do go down to Italian Somaliland with that transport, you could bring the transport from India with two units to help. That and the bombardment is usually successful.

-what I end up doing is copying the entire comment block, and pasting it into my reply once for each individual point I am going to reply to.  Then I just delete out the extraneous bits from each section.  This seems faster to me than going in and adding the extra [qu0te][/qu0te] tags in the original text to make room for your comments.

In that case it would be entirely worth it for england if they can get the man power to the battle. If they could bring a tank or two infantry, and drop them. Than they can bombard with the cruiser that is off the Brazilian coast.

They can indeed hook up with the cruiser there, but Brasil is pro-Allies so it would be rude to bomb them ;)

I believe it originates between the Classic Map and the Revised Map.  In the classics map, only Neutral Territories were represented, and due to the small number of territories and adjacencies, there were balance issues (I’ve seen arguments either way, but in general the smaller number of territories was a problem).  In the Revised map, with the addition of more territories, there was probably also a desire to represent more historically accurate unit movements (and reduce axis advantage in snagging parts of africa and vice versa later in the game).  The Himalayas isolated India from China, and the Sahara created a buffer between the axis mediterranean territories and british territories directly south.

In Classic, Germany had multiple routes to Africa (go south!). In Revised, there is only one (short of transports) - egypt.  The benefit to this was to force egypt to become a back and forth battle between britain and germany as they vie for a strategic advantage.

In order to create a simple rule that aligned with previous mechanics (impassible neutrals), I would imagine that they simply desired these territories to follow the same rules and not allow flyovers either.  After all, while it was possible to fly over the sahara and himalayas, it was very dangerous and hardly the preferred route.

As the game map has grown (classics - revised - AA50 - AA40), it has clearly remained a desire by the designer to maintain the strategic route through egypt.  And because at the outset of the game allowing flyovers would favor the Axis (far more planes available in close proximity), I would imagine it’s a balance issue as well (at least, early game).  Removing the restriction dilutes the value of Egypt.

okay here is what I do take (1sub, 1fighter) to 109 (2subs, 1fighter, 1tatical) to 110 and 111 (battelship cruiser fighter tatical) to 112
(infantry, artillery) to Normandy (5infantry, artillery, 4 mech, 5tanks, bomber) to France

-this will let you take out most of the RN with just subs as loses and there will nothing that the U.K. can do take europe.

france will be controlled by Germany. just build a destoryer in seasone 112 to prevent fighter attack on your navy. build a minor factory in Romaina this will frist let you build units in a better position in eastern europe + let you build subs for the med. with this and Normandy you should be able to help out Italy enough

Yes, there is no way to eliminate can opener strategies because the Axis need to work together, and the Allies need to work together in order to win the game.
