Another question - How do you decide in a tournament who is Axis and who is Allies? I imagine people request and you can match up but there has to be some mismatching where there’s too many of one. Do most people want to be Axis since the game favors them a little? Thanks for allowing my curiosity to ask about it.

We usually go by preference, though I pretty much always give way to my partners after stating I like the US and Russia.

@crockett36 I love it. Great to see something different. I will get to finishing my turn Sunday. Super, super busy week. The time I sat down to do my turn I was thrown off by your Japanese. Been looking and thinking. One clarification - I parked an American destroyer in the midst of your Japanese fleet off of Caroline Islands. If you declare war on US, then you must immediately fight the US destroyer - correct? Which means that fleet can’t attack the larger US force adjacent to it? I’m basing my USA1 movements on that. If I’m wrong then it messes things up.

@crockett36 I asked Panther about it. I have my UK combat ready to go, but I was thinking if my understanding of that rule is incorrect then the game is going to be off. I would have parked all my US pacific ships in striking range of a larger Japanese force. If I proceed with the UK combat and you do really well - it would be lame to ask to redo the US turn.

@GuamSolo Hey Crockett - so Panther got back to me and I was incorrect with my understanding of that rule. The Japanese can declare war and then move their fleet without engaging the destroyer I left there. If it is ok with you, I will go back and redo my USA turn, otherwise I will lose my entire Pacific fleet due to a misunderstanding of a rule. The only thing I’m redoing regarding battles will be in China and its pretty minimal. If this is ok, I’ll get to it tomorrow. 11:30 at night here now. Thanks Randy.
