Has anyone seen the rule book from Gamers Paradise that talks about destroyers and destroyer escorts? Its was a mod to the original AAA but I think the rule set fits well with the global 1940 game.
If anyone would like to see the rule set I have them in a file I could post here if that would be ok. Its from the early 90s so I dont think original author would mine since its no longer for sale. However I did see a ebay post for an original copy for 70 dollars american. (Crazy)

Unit - Attack - Defense - Move - Cost
Cruiser - 3 - 3 - 2 - 15/13 (apparently they were originally 15 IPCs, reduced to 13 IPCs in a later printing) - Can Coastal Bombard
Destroyer - 2 - 2 - 2 - 8 - special sub patrol rules
Escort - 1 - 3 - 2 - 8 - special convoy/transport defense and sub patrol rules, can be transferred from 1 nation’s control to another
German Subs (U-boats) subs cost 6 IPCs for Germany only, everybody else pays 8 IPCs
Battleships - 2 hits to kill
Carriers - 2 hits to kill

@Midnight_Reaper thats the book Midnight. I thought the rules for convoys and subs was interesting. Since that was done in the early 90s and mods for Axis were few and far back then. Wolfpacks vs convoys was a good dynamic inside the Original AAA. Transports just dying is a sore spot for some players. This allowed transports a role besides just dying and it gave navy combat some interesting options both for Axis and the Allies.
Its a desent rule set.
If you’re looking to buy a copy on eBay, search for “World War 2 the Expansion”. There’s also “World War 2 Expansion 2” and “World War 2 Expansion 3” available for purchase on eBay. The rules you want are in the first book/set.
The Exp2 changed up the generic square chit counters for Cruisers, Destroyers, and Escorts for color-coded round counters (and changed a few other things). The Exp3 featured a new map and a lot of new counters for new idea (pill boxes, variable IPC values for Japan/USA islands in the Pacific, special Naval/Carrier Fighters, etc).
Yes, I have all three. EBay is not quite your friend but can be useful if you know what you’re doing.

@Midnight_Reaper Oh no, sorry for confusion. I have all three sets still in my possession. World war 2 (The expansion). I was just offering the files I had to anyone who might want to take a peak since the price is a bit too high on ebay because of the scarcity. But thank you for the offer.
@sgt-mclusky I’ve been using those rules with my brother from when it first came out for every game version, up until I got the G40 version back in '17- nowadays I just use the oob rules for destroyers for simplicity purposes!
