Easter Gaming Session 2019
April (18 – 19)

We will be hosting our 6th annual Easter Gaming Session.
The format is Axis and Allies Global 1940 with Balance Mod 3 Version ruleset.

The location for the event is Celina, Ohio. Please post or PM if you would like to attend. The game will begin early morning on Thursday the 18th and we play until the game is finished. We take breaks and stop for the evening then resume on Friday the 19th. Don’t worry if your unfamiliar with the ruleset. Its very easy to adapt to and you can play test prior to the event on TripleA. Please feel free to post questions if you need clarification.

I am from IL but will be traveling to San Francisco for Kubla Con Memorial day weekend.  I had trouble locating the A&A players last year until I found out too late the war gamers were given a space outside the hotel in a large banquet tent.  I see there is a classic 2nd Ed tournament offered, but I’m more interested in a casual game of global.  I’d also play anniversary or 1942 2nd ed.  Any other player headed to Kubla?

It’s a whole day of A&A slaughter and mayhem in Derbyshire, UK. Thus far these events have included games of 1942.2, Anniversary and 1914, as players wish on the day.

Currently we have six players, so there will be two games, with space for more to participate.

US was kind of one dimensional in this game. But I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Mr. Smorly and his crew at the Smorly Swamp at Gencon 2016.  Really made a great effort to make us feel welcome and provide a great referee for determining teams and times.  Made some awesome trophies, had a huge number of great prizes (+30 games, minis, shirts, everything).  He puts a ton of time and effort into these events and they wouldn’t be the same without him.

Also a shout out to Bob Roby, 2012 and 2014 Gencon G42 Tournament Co-winner.    Played like a true gentleman; offered great advice, and was a gracious loser at both Kantcon 2016 and in our Gencon Tournament Game.

We and he want a rematch without delay here in Kansas City at Tabletop Game and Hobby!  Thank you to Phil Kilgore for providing a free practice and play space for our club.

Maphead and I won the G42 tournament our first time at Gencon, 3-1, Ally, Axis, Axis, Axis.  It was an awesome experience and the entire crew of the global games went out for a drink.  Our opponents first day, James and Jason, went out to dinner with us and shared war stories.  It was an incredible experience and every player was a sportsman and a gentleman.

Look forward to seeing you all again in the future at the Swamp.  Shout out to Tirano and Siparo who attended and the rest from the boards for all their good advice and feedback.  Veni, Vidi, Vici!

Credulous has provided the following battle report on the other game:

The 1942 game was contested between Credulous and two non-forum players from the village. The Axis very quickly established themselves as firm favourites for the win wiping out a significant Russian stack in Karelia, and the Siberian army massing on the Japanese border. The Allies never really recovered from these early losses, which were compounded with the early loss of Egypt and India. In a desperate bid to counter the American’s launched an audacious bid to capture Toyko via amphibious landings, but this desperate gambit was quashed and in the following turn a four carrier Japanese battlegroup sailed into home waters to sink the American battleships and cruisers and leave the US Pacific fleet in tatters. Finally the British launched a desperate attack of their own on Berlin having established a temporary beach head in Holland Belgium, but this attack was also quashed leaving nothing to prevent the triumphant Axis armies marching into Berlin. At the close of the game the Axis empire stretched from Normandy to Eastern Siberia, encompassing everything in between and the entirety of Africa, along with Australia. The contest was over by 3.40pm allowing an early get away for all concerned to soak up the sunshine and fine weather!
