1942 2nd Edition - First impression (video)

I don’t think I have ever seen Japanese planes over Britain in an A&A game. Pretty interesting strategy.

Another nice thing about the 2nd edition is that it has better sculpts: more nation-specific designs, plus anti-aircraft guns represented by specific sculpts.

Yea you really have to decide to either go all Atlantic, or all Pacific with the US.  You try to do a little of both and it just doesn’t work.

WILD BILL - do you play with an optional rule that damaged BB’s take until the next turn to repair after taking 1 hit?  In the 1942 Rulebook it states “If a battleship survives a combat having taken one hit, return it upright to the game board.”

You know we missed that. We’ve been playing it auto repairs in the beginning of your next turn (G40 hangover I guess). With the correct rule you stated above killing the UK cruiser and taking Gib makes even more sense. They would be facing a 2 hit BB (even if your BB takes a hit).

Agreed. Awesome video Dave but you’ve got to set it all up again. There’s nothing worse than an unfinished game of A&A.

Any official word yet on whether Honalulu is a VC or not? Book says no, map says yes. I have heard 2 different stories now about which to trust.

Ditto!  I’m hoping there is at least an official word on this before the game arrives, preferably a FAQ. :)
