Trade sides, you know how to win as the Allies if he’s getting win after win as the Allies. Give him some of his own medicine.
  Try to incorporate new players, more people more opportunities both success and failure and look into the on line games to see what the pro’s do

Well, he and I have played about 10 games, I have won all that we have finished, but he’s on the verge of beating me, since he gets to see my strategies with both sides each time.  Just learn and get better each game, remember what went well and what didn’t, and develop and hone your skills over time.  Eventually you’ll beat him, but be patient and don’t ever give up.  Good luck.

North Africa = 5 IPC
Egypt Trilogy = 6 IPC
Iraq = 2 IPC
C. Persia = 2 IPC
NW. Persia = 2 IPC
Caucasus = 5 IPC

S. Africa is a good target as well!

Shouldn’t be overly difficult for Italy to get into the 60 IPC range, if Germany is running cover for them out of SZ 112. (Since it can hit SZ 91 and Italian aircraft can clear SZ 110/SZ 104.)

Yes, I generally have a strategic bomber or two for Italy primarily to clear SZ 104.  I’m crazy.  Ask anyone. ^_^  I just nailed India in a game because France forgot to declare war.  They were in a blocking position, but they had never been attacked by Japan and never had declared war on Japan so I could ignore them.  Crazy works (sometimes.)

For the record, if you are REALLY zealous, try GHR34’s Kill America First strategy!

Some people disagree, but I think A&A is a lot like chess. You have to be constantly aware of where your opponents pieces are and how they could be used to hurt you. This is difficult for some people to do because they are so focused on their own army and how much damage they can cause, that they end up in spaces that make them vulnerable. How many times did you get attacked loosing a lot of units by very few, and said out loud “Wow, I didn’t see that”. So before you take your combat movement phase, take the time to look at your dad’s forces everywhere on the board, count out the movement points for everything so you know where they can reach, and identify strong and weak areas in his war effort. Only after you have done this, should you look at your own units in the same way and move them into combat. It’s not as easy as it sounds, it takes a lot of discipline, however, you will begin to minimize your mistakes which is the first step to beating your dad.

yeah young grasshopper i have said wow i didnt see that a 1000 or more times and i buy a lot of high expense things like battle ships bombers etc…

When I play a game I write a paragraph or so in my “game diary”. I write about why I feel I won or lost the game I’m writing about. One of the consistent reasons why I loose games is that I didn’t take the time or the brain power to analyze my opponents chances against my own forces (that and bad dice rolls). When I win, I pat myself on the back for not being mentally lazy and processing the data every turn. Its not much fun spending so much time looking at your enemy’s pieces, but in the famous book “the art of war” about military tactics; the first rule is…… know your enemy. Imagine how much more confident you will feel when you finish your turn and you see the frustration on your dads face because you have taken away all his options, simply by knowing his options. It should occur to you now that this is how he is playing you.

thats a good idea i wrote down some strats in a book then i lost then book sadly i did ok last game but the us was getting paid way to much money like 8 2 ipcs i a turn and i didn t have enough ipcs to counter that my planes did take out a fleet that was in one sea zone but then it took up 4 sea zones there was only 7 million battleships etc…

I have a feeling that you like playing the axis. Remember that with the axis, time is always against you. By turn 4 you may see that the income of Germany and Japan is at par or even above that of the US, but from that moment forth, the window begins to close fast on the axis, especially if the UK is still earning an income. It’s not so much the money the US has (although it is a major factor) but rather the fact that the US begins the game way out of position. After turn 4 the US has much better position and money to strike the axis hard ( like what happened in the game you mentioned). You may not get your dad to surrender so you will need a plan to take the nessasary victory cities to win the game outright. Choose what victory cities it will take to win and plan a time table what round you will take them, with what forces, and a plan to hold them. Try not to get caught up in bold purchases and fancy attacks to try and impress your dad with your creativity. The only way to impress your dad is to win the whole war.

i think this nephew of yours will probably beat you in either the game you are currently playing, or the next one.the current one looks kinda iffy. i mean whats japan got left to do???

you invade UK and next turn you bombard the Naval Base and Airbase in Gibraltar to ruins. Since you now control UK, they cant repair this bases, so the US units that land in Gibraltar turn 4 will get less range.

I’ve been so concerned with Gibraltar as Germany that I am shucking units there, putting an AA gun and leaving my fleet there.

With this move I can leave my ships to fight against Russia and just bomb Gibraltar!  Amazing, its little moves like this that some people see as common sense and others miss entirely.

Bombing the Gibraltar port Sounds like> Operation SalothSar…. nice steal Razor!
