What's the first thing you'll do upon getting Europe 1940?

Me and some mates will go down playing it the moment it arrives!
Been working our butts through Revised, Pacific, 1942 and D-day over the last 1,5 years, and we are really looking forward to this arriving!

Open box.
Set up board.
Stare at board.
Attempt to not drool all over board.
Open all pieces.
Set up for E40.
Be depressed by my lack of a table large enough to set up G40.
Contemplate using bed to set up G40.
Say “screw sleep!”
Set up G40 on bed.
Play with self.

…. yeah, I’m going to leave that last item on the list exactly as is.  No further explanation necessary…

That size is almost the same as a Warhammer match. Add charts, dices, money (sacked from old games  :-P ) and similar stuff, and you have the same size. Interesting coincidence

You ever play Warhammer Funcioneta?

Not much since I play Axis & Allies, but I still play WH40k one or two times each year  :-D

When I’m your age I will be able to get up!

The first thing that I will do when I get Europe 1940 is open it up and look at it, then I will look for all of the WOTC typos that are sure to be included.

Paulau
Honolulu on Hawai’i island(does this count as a typo? If so:
Calcutta is too far inland)

Washington in Chesepeke bay or North Carolina
Ottawa in the middle of Quebec
Brittany will be spelled Britty, analogous to the artillery typo
France will have 1 infantary in Vichy

I don’t know… We play on the floor a lot, actually. It is a nice solution if you can’t get to a table big enough.

Personally I prefer a table. It is generally more comfortable to sit at a table, and less prone to someone knocking the board around or stepping on it.

2 artillery in Japan? Is there only supposed to be 1?

Nope. Japan starts with 8 infantry, 2 artillery, 1 tank, 5 fighters, 4 tactical bombers, 2 strategic bombers, 1 AA gun, 1 naval base, 1 airbase, 1 major IC

I just put the insert in my table upstairs, it now measures 74" by 36"
still almost 2 months away though

How do you know this? You may not ever get to my age. When I was born the Dead Sea was only sick. I built a bench in my shop that I have ILs AA50 map mounted on under plexiglass. Nice and smooth so that all the pcs. set nice and level. Right now we have a small group of three. Yes I am the eldest. In the near future I will have the AA1940G set up over top of AA50. Maybe next year I will have ILs 1939 map mounted there with custom rules. Sorry I got started ramblin. I am lucky at my age that I can still find my way out to my shop. Oh well I guess one of the other guys will help me get out there.
