ok thanks!
Large scale AA42 map

How are you guys getting these maps printed? Every print shop I contact (including the one recommended by IL) wants permission from the company that makes the game. Some even insist that the file be sent to them by the company that makes the game.
I would love to have a large-format game map like the ones pictured in this thread, but it is so frustrating that no one will print it for me. Is there something I am missing here?

You can mail the disk in and they ship the print to your home.

DuhYes, I tend to be too honest for my own good. To make matters worse, I tend to look guilty too, even when I am not, which makes people suspicious and ask more questions. Still trying to find a way to make that work for me in life. So far, it has just gotten me in trouble.

Good idea. I will just send a disk in and try to avoid any chatty interaction. Will let you know how it goes. I am drooling over those pictures. My 10 year-old son and his buddies are used to cramming a zillion figures onto the tiny spaces in the 1st edition 1942 map, and they will go nuts if we can get one of these big maps. Thank you IL for making these maps available and for your advice!

Hey, these days I would be willing to do anything to get a 10 year old into board games and away from the Play Station… Good on you buddy for doing that! I feel board games are a lost past time… I’m doing the best I can to keep my 4 year old into it. He’s got almost as many games as I do! (Almost… :-D)

I contacted AAA Flag and Banner about a week ago and my order is underway. Hope to have the big map in another week or so, and will post a picture when we have it.
@Variable: Yes, my 10 year-old (this map is for his 11th birthday) is completely hooked on boardgames, and gets his friends into them too. I figure this was a good investment on my part, since I will always have someone to play against.
You’re doing the right thing with your 4 year-old. He’ll have fond memories as far back as he can remember spending time with his dad and playing games. He’ll probably be ready for A&A at about 8, as long as you don’t play super competitively. Other young adult/adult games that hit our table a lot are HeroQuest and Battle Cry.

How can one print these maps smaller than intended ?

You cant go wrong with them, all my prints are with them and they actually have all the programs ( not like that stupid kinkos BS).

They can be sized with any graphics program, or the printer can do it.

So i should be able to tell the printing company, ‘i want this in x size’ and they should be able to do it?
I had them printed back to back, and didnt realize how big it was until i got it home lol :P
It fits on my table but now nothing else does!
Either way, they are great quality,
and 1000% improvement over that puny little piece of cardboard that i dug out of the spring 42 box (had to use tweezers) -
Yes you can. just ask them.
If all else fails goto AAAflagandbanner.com

I’ve read through all seven pages of this thread but couldn’t find the answer to this question; I suspect it has been asked before somewhere and apologize for asking again but my google-fu is not strong enough to find the answer directly.
I want to print a large format map for my A&A game. I’m stuck on which one to use. I own a copy of the Milton Bradley “Gamemaster Series” edition which I obtained in a game trade on BGG. My copy came with a second full set of everything but the rulesbook and board in the box. (BTW, the map in this box is UGLY; can’t wait to get something bigger & nicer and drool over IL’s work)
My understanding is that I should be able to use the AA42 1st ed map in place of the Milton Bradley version. If it is compatible, I’d like to use the version with the neutrals rules.
Thoughts from people who know more about this than I do?
Thanks, Scott

Dear IL,
I was wondering, do you know where to find an PDF for AA1942 second edition?
Looking forward for a reply
