so how’s the project goin?

Project is going fine.  All the sculpts are ready (except the Italian bomber) and I will be sending them to the factory THE SAME day AA42 lands on my desk!  IL had suggested that we hold out until the new sculpts are released with this new game just so we can make sure there are no NEW surprises that would be a shame to miss in this very expensive new set.

In Aug I will have an update and release the list of Sculpts for each nation.

I agree that it is a wise move to wait until we see the next iteration of Axis & Allies.

You also would not want doubles in sculpts, not that it matters with Italy.  I see no reason to delay the  Italy Pieces due to AA42

WHAT IF???  There is a NEW unit we don’t know about?  Just like when the Destroyer was added it became common in all games…  I would hate to have a great set missing this piece.  There could be a secret.  It is already July and we have very little detail and no pictures of the new game!?!?!?!

If someone can tell me 100% certain…  that there are NO SURPRISES in  AA42…  I will send the sculpts for ITALY tomorrow to start the process.

I seriously doubt we will be lucky enough to get a new piece with this edition

FMG, can you at least tell as what the Itlian peices are models of, and what kind of poses the infanty pieces are in and what weapons they are carrying.

Thanks for the pics.  U guys got the bomber sculpt yet?  Does anyone know of any company that makes WWII sculpts?

So keen to use the Semovente 75/18  as the artillery piece.

As far as im concerned artillery in AA50 equals arillery, self propelled guns, and all other forms of heavy support weapon.

That and i do not enjoy painting those little pokey artillery pieces from AA50, Japan i’m looking at you!

Hey!  I think I just found a few Italian Bomber sculpts.  I’m not sure it’s what you wanted, and I don’t think the detail is in great quality.  It’s the Sm 79, and the Z1007.

Actually the reason I am looking forward to this is because I picked up my AA50 board on ebay for $30, but it came with no game pieces. Been using old gray German sculpts for Italy and destroyers with damage markers under then for cruisers :(

No one more than Field Marshal!!  I have been working on this FOREVER it seems…  it’s all coming together now!

Well OK.  I can hold off turning big and green for a couple more months I guess.  I’m not sure if you covered this question, but are you including China also? I guess it doesn’t matter. I’ve been using the puke green UK sculpts for them and nobody has said anything yet…

the great thing is that these people offer 2 bomber sculpts (though the Z1007 has no pic).  If AA42 has one bomber sculpt, you can use the other.

That is, unless they decide to throw in an extra “heavy bomber” piece for each nation.  That doesn’t seem likely though, since it will only have ~300 pieces.

CHINA will also be included as a separate release and as part of the COMPLETE set.

ITALY will be released first, followed by the other nations.  Once ITALY is complete the others will follow rapidly.
