It has seem to be tied to downloading stuff from sponsor sites.
That is surprising since the folks providing the commercial content tend to be big name, well heeled companies that do this for a living.

it sometimes freezes for me several minutes. (often when im trying to post)

Sometimes I fear the entire site’s down after a post and I go to a dicey instead of getting the rolled results. This is only a problem when the site spits out results when it comes back up. :(

It does seem to be getting SOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW loading posts. It seems worse in the evenings when, presumably, traffic is the heaviest. What does our fearless host, Mr. Jennsen, have to say on the subject? :?

Too many n’s in my name there.
I’m almost certain it is database related. Additionally, this server is shared by several others. I’ve alerted the sysadmin so there’s not much else I can do right now.

Not just you, I was unable to get in for several hours earlier today… and I STILL cannot get into my mail.
Apparently some servers are having issues with Daylight Savings Time today…

I downloaded maps earlier no problem is there a problem with download Maps from the forums now?
when I click on save it’s trying to save the link and not actually the file?
my computer crashed and I re-formated everything so maybe there is in issue there for me.

FireFox is generally a more reliable browser than IE.

A quick update. I have a new server where I’m going to move the site but it is going to take sometime. Being on my own server should solve the connection issues.

No. The downtime earlier is why I’m moving.

After the move, does the site seem faster?

yes it does to me.

It seems more responsive. Does that mean you’ve had more traffic in the past 6 months?

The traffic went up a little and then back down. The reason for the slowness was other issues on the old server.
