New to online play

ABattlemap is a great utility to use as well.  It’s a version of the game for your computer desktop.  Icons take a while to get used too, but at least you don’t spend 20 minutes setting up the board anymore!

I don’t like tripleA.  Takes long to load.  Kills all SBR bombers (it seems.) GUI isn’t friendly.

I also like TripleA.  A lot.  Yes, it takes a long time to load.  Like 10 seconds.  But it only takes me 5-10 mins to post a turn instead of 20-30 minutes in ABattlemap.  So I’ll gladly wait the the 10 seconds.

Kills all SBRs?  Give the Owl his Crack Pipe back Jen!  In various threads you’ve accused almost every dicey of this.  Give me a break.

GUI is VERY FRIENDLY (IMO).  Plus the graphics are pretty good.  If you are new and looking for ways to play online, at least get TripleA and decide for yourself.

I’ve rolled it…you know, when I want to prove to the bad guy that I won the game, I’m just waiting for surrender.  Then I’ll throw 40 dice to get 1 tech. (exaggeration of course.)

I’m actually starting a game with RANDMACTS.  We’re sticking with Abattlemap for now, but where can we find some help on how to change the “Info View” count of IPC on hand?  I can’t seem to track down a function to change them and it doesn’t appear to be automatic at all.

You want to track the On hand IPCs?

The common way is to add flags into Saudi Arabia, until you’ve got the correct ipc count.

For example:
before the game starts, add 24 Soviet Union Flags in Saudi Arabia, 40 German flags, 30 UK ones, 30 Japanese, and 42 USA flags.

The SHIFT-Click function to add 5 units/flags at a time becomes useful at this point…  :-)

I concur.  That or the Sahara Desert is used.  In Classic Saudia Arabia or W. Compass Sea Zone are the two common places for flags to track IPCs.

Really, I wish someone would write Abattlemap 0.791.exe incorporate the patch for the sea zones AND include a track for IPCs on hand.
