Grasshopper's National Objective Card Deck

@Young:

Just searched on google images, however, depending on your choice of search words… you could get a whole different set of the same type of images. For example: if you search WW2 art, you will get some nice illustrations, and if you search WW2 artwork, you will get some different ones. I had a lot of fun creating Delta Deck, but it was a lot of work too, unfortunately our play tests didn’t workout well at all, but KNP had some nice ideas on how to use it and I would like to explore it again in the future, no immediate plans though.

Okay, thank you. I did some preliminary searches yesterday and discovered that to be the case (about using certain words). I will see what I can find.

As I said somewhere, the Delta Cards reminded me very much of the National Advantages from Revised. I always liked playing with them, since they added another flavor to the game. Never did a lot of study to determine if they could legitimately throw a game one way or another, I just thought they were fun.

In case this is of any interest, LHoffman: when YG was working on his Delta / NO deck, I posted a number of pictures here in case any of them turned out to be useful for the project. I don’t recall if any of them were used, and I can’t find the thread where they were posted – so what I’ve done below is posted a collection of thumbnail versions of those pictures. If a few of them are pictures you’d like to use yourself, let me know which ones and I’ll post their full-size version.

Okay – I’ll post them one or two at a time (which is the posting limit) in separate messages. Â The new forum server has been causing me picture-posting problems, so I may need to take a few cracks at it before the pictures all get properly attached.

Edit: Done. The posting trick that seems to work is to post the message first, then go back and modify it to add the picture attachment. For some reason, posting the message and the picture simultaneously causes the system to get hung up for a couple of minutes and to generate an error message. Strange.

Ah yes, thank you both. I just went back and re-read about 18 pages of the Delta Rules thread from last year. Just to pump myself up about it again.

Again, awesome job with that YG. Great idea and great looking cards.

Thanks, they do look good and I’m sure I’ll revisit the project again in the future just to give it some proper closure.

Thanks for the deck YG! Can’t wait to try it out on my next session. Only noticed one thing wrong with the cards. For the Italian NO for North Africa, the book does not include Egypt in the requirements. Not sure if this is a house rule or not, but for my purposes I just underlined Egypt and put a star in the corner so I would know that this was a “house” rule card.

DUH!.. got that one wrong, sorry about that, it’s not a house rule just made a mistake. Now I’ll have to make a second edition to correct that and anything else I missed, also… would like to design the victory objective cards a bit better and maybe offer the whole deck at artscow like cyanight did.
