Hey buddy! I was wandering what happened to you.

I decided to join, with you all, in painting my pieces. :-D

Everyone has been inspirational in helping me learn how to do this.

You said your looking forward to my winter camo Luftwaffe?

It should be the last planes I’ve done on this thread.

All I have left is the gray camo scheme, and I’m redoing some of my first two groups I did with the night camo and the green camo with yellow.

I also adding a few more planes, about five to the winter camo, another transport plane in the desert scheme, as well as transport planes for all five camo schemes and last but not least sea planes in the gray camo scheme.

**Just to update everyone, I’ve been dealing with life interfering with my painting and migraines. It has not been a good month for me. Sorry, I haven’t been able to finish painting my air force, but will eventually finish it when I can. I have jury duty next week, so I don’t know what is going to happen next. Will see!

oh yes I see your winter camo now JB. very sharp those planes are ready to fly deep into Russian and operation Barbarossa! I like the winter camo they are fun too paint aren’t they? I have only done some infantry a few tanks and support vehicles. Need alittle airforce for the winter definetly! Never worry about apologizing I think JB. Id say most of the people on this customization forum…we’re all in the same boat. We all get busy, or “bogged down” with life. And come on here and paint when we can! Its cool to take a leave of absence for a while and come on and see new and old artists re-emerged with new painted pieces for our viewing! Keep up the good work when you are back at it JB.

I love doing the winter camo. There were so many variants for Germany. It was really hard to pick from.

Update: Guys, I finally back to painting my Luftwaffe. I hope to have the whole air force done in 2 or 3 weeks. I know it is been awhile, but hopefully I will get it done in these next few weeks.

**Update:**I’m giving you an update on my painting.

I’ve steadily been painting almost everyday, but it is taking me a lot longer than I thought.

Unfortunately, they will not be done in time.

I’m on the striping phase and this has been a job, because I’m painting my old nemesis, yellow, and I can’t rush it. It has taken several coats, like you all have told me.

After this I have the cockpits and the engine casings.

After this will be protective coat, then decals and finally protective spray again.

I also miscounted how many planes, I was doing. I counted and the total came to exactly 70.

There will be over 400 decals that I will have to be put on these planes.

What I’m working on is the last phase of the Luftwaffe, I’m repainting some of the night camo planes, half of the green camo scheme, which involves the yellow stripes and engine casings, but the surprise of this group is I painted them the correct German green camo this time.

I also am painting a squadron of German seaplanes, transport planes for all camo schemes, and last but not least I did another winter pattern on a couple of planes.

So, you see what I’m up against.

I will no longer give a timeline, because I failed this timeline, and it puts too much pressure on myself.

Guys, sorry I haven’t got anything to show you, right now, but I really think you will like what I have done with the finished product, because I have taken more time on it, and I’m taking all of your advices, about being patient and not rushing it.

What I’ve decided to do is, instead of waiting till all planes are complete, I will show you as I finish a group of planes.

That way, I can give you something to look at, while I try to complete the next group, because I know you all have been waiting awhile.

Once my Luftwaffe is finished, I will be starting another thread called, “John Brown’s Complete Painted German Forces.”

I will still have this thread, and it will contain my complete Global set and will always contain current work, but many of you have asked me to put all these planes together in squadrons with all the camo schemes, so I will be starting a new thread once the Luftwaffe is complete.

That way if you just want to look at my German forces, it will be in one place.

Don’t worry about it, John! Giving timelines is a slippery thing, because things happen and plans change. I’m glad that they are turning out well. I will be excited to see the pieces!

Thanks buddy! I just wanted others to know that I am still working on them, but it has taken me longer than normal, especially 70 planes, LOL. It has been a tremendous undertaking, but will be well worth it in the end. :-D

I know it has been a long time coming, but here is my first eight planes of 70 to show you. These weren’t originally a part of my Luftwaffe plans, but HBG made them, and I had to have them.

These are German Do-X sea planes in silver with three different colored gray camos.

I hope you enjoy these. I had a lot of fun painting these. :-D

When the going gets tough, these planes are the last defense, when it comes to your sea bases. They will hold out as long as they need to. They are like sharks or a praying mantis. They will either take a bite out of you or sting you!

Sea planes are looking great here John brown! Your lines are getting smoother … And you tackling that trickey yellow nicely! You must be applying more thinner coats to build up the coverage now instead of painting thicker ! These birds look sweet

Update: Guys, I’ve got good news! I’m almost done with the Luftwaffe.

I have 22 planes left to decal.

If everything goes according to plan, I will be posting pictures, Thursday night, if not I will have them by Tuesday, because I have to go out of town this weekend.

I’m working, extra hard this week, to get them done.

I think you all will be pleasantly surprised at how much better I have gotten on my painting.

Thanks buddy! I appreciate it. With everyone’s help, I do think I have gotten better and more patient over time, and that has helped tremendously.

Phase Five of Five Camo Schemes of the German Luftwaffe

**Guys, I was able to transfer my photos to my business computer. I didn’t won’t to do that, but you all have waited long enough.

This group of planes is done in a silver camo with two kinds of gray camo tones, so it is not exactly historically accurate, but it is close enough, and is my favorite camo, of all the planes I have painted.

It is a bright sunny day, and the English Channel’s waters are quite choppy. The Allies are hoping that today will be a better, but as hope seems just within reach, a fiery explosion with black smoke, soon afterwards, fills the skies. Several ships lie in ruins, within minutes as the Luftwaffe has struck again.

This first photo is with all the planes.

The second photo is the bf-109’s.
