Great work on the unit bags, how about the map shots?

@WILD:

Good idea. Stay tuned – they’ll be coming shortly.
-
Here’s the first map shot.
-
And here’s the other one, which I had to split.
-
So Hannover is south of Berlin?? That`s like Chicago beeing south of Washington
The area should be named Dresden or maybe Frankfurt but Hannover is not correct
-
Thanks for the effort CWO Marc, I would think DJ will be posting some still shots of the map in a day or two so we can see the territory boarders and IPC values better.

sculpts look outstanding

Still can’t make out which headgear the Germans are wearing…
Tanks look a lot slimmer and better proportioned than the scans.
Planes might even be usable…
What counts for overcrowding is the size of the chips. I suppose if they were any smaller they’d be liable to topple over; but tts like Lorraine might get 10 or more stacks in them at times.
Probably need some army boards and markers to make it playable.
Still can’t make out the colour of the UK units (a bit colour blind); are they tan or pale green?
-
I think the UK units are very light green. But I’m also red green colorblind. Most of these colors looks really similar to me
-
Umm, I had to paint my MB edition Japanese pieces red as I couldn’t tell them apart from the UK units.
Had to paint one of my History of the World unit sets black too, as the two green piece colours were far too close.
The new Shogun/Ikusa looks horrendous too - main reason I didn’t buy it.
-
Can you tell apart the Ottomans and Germans? They seem very similar. I think they need to come out with a neon color edition for us lol.
UK- Bright orange
USA- Lime green.
France- light blue
Germany- Light grey
Italy- Dark red
Austria- yellow
Ottomans- Pink
Russians- bright redI realize these colors are awful, but it would be good for color blind people
-
Strangely enough, I don’t think I’ll have a problem distinguishing units in this edition, despite there being 8 colours including 3 (4?) greens!

I agree that the UK pieces are light green, though in one of the screenshots they look closer to pale cream (which I’m pretty sure is just a combination of the lighting and the low picture resolution). Green is notoriously variable in its appearance under different lighting conditions (daylight, incandescent and fluorescent), so I was unhappy to learns that the 1914 game uses three different shades of green. Just one would have been more than enough in my opinion. I also can’t figure out the Italian colour, which is supposedly brown but which to me looks a lot closer to burnt orange.

I agree.
But brown is a shade of orange, so it’s understandable why it looks either way depending on the lighting.
-
Isn’t Turquoise also a shade of green? That makes four. Plus the Germans are in a greenish grey.

I can’t tell if the French are wearing kepi’s or the Adrian helmet. I assume the Adrian because the Italians are wearing them.
