I understand that battleships seem underpowered by the sheer number of IPC’s they cost. The idea that they can transport one unit is horrible. battleships aren’t transports by no means. Historically they were the ship that bombarded an island or defended a carrier group. Normally what I do is up their bombardment hit up a number AND allow them to attack twice in a combat round (note this double roll for one battleship is only on attack). this makes them a solid buy for an offensive minded navy

RE: Strategy for mid-game Axis
the allies cannot win with russia so heavily crushed. The gain in IPC’s for both the axis countries should ensure victory. As germany, take the rest of russia in order to close that theater, even if you lose another West europe germany. After closing that front, focus entirely on GB and take back Europe. You should be able to do this with the gain of IPC’s. Build your navy and keep using the economy to your advantage. Obviously you have more IPC’s than britain, which means you should be able to slowly overrun them. As japan, a navy would serve well to repulse the Americans. BUT make sure you don’t lose japan. So before you build a navy, make sure you have adequate defense on your mainland, and make sure the americans can’t land in Asia (screw Australia, you can take that back, not important) Once you are secure from landings. Use your IPC’s you took from Russia and the Middle east to build a navy that can cleanse your waters. With Both axis focusing on a Navy, you will be able to take the war to their doorstep by giving yourself an offensive fleet that can land troops onto the American continents while forcing the allies to play defensively

RE: Capital captured and liberated… IPC ?
when capitals are liberated they ALWAYS go back to the country whose capital that is. Germany has Moscow. Britain takes Moscow, Moscow is now Russian.

RE: ?? Best way to take France ??
For one, taking russia out first is always a good idea, france and italy don’t have the power to overrun germany and AH unless they receive A LOT of british help within 3 turns. Play defensive on the western front and focus on crushing russia, it can easily be done if all three CP’s collaborated. Once Russia is down it is essential for AH do establish a front with France by controlling Piedmont. This means AH needs to focus on taking the northern reaches of Italy. this can be done by using the ICP’s gained from Russia and the Wave of extra troops coming from the eastern front. By establishing a border with france you extend the front line they must hold up, therefore reducing the amount of troops per territory. Once this occurs they are more spread out and less compact, making them more susceptible to collapse after constant pressure. In conclusion, France will be able to hold off germany unless the frontline gets extended beyond what they can comfortably defend.

RE: 1st Game, 1st Post
it was very impressive that you were able to take Moscow indeed. Not pressuring OE from India was a large mistake, drawing OE away from russia. Also, Italy not pressing AH and therefore drawing units away from Russia was also poor on their part. Britain was worthless, and italy was not used in an intelligent way. Nice win
