Kamakazes require the Allies to initiate combat in that zone. You get the option to deploy them at the end of an Allies combat move, before combat is resolved, and only then.
FLYER FOR 2ND EDITION E40 AND P40 IS OUT- SEPTEMBER 18TH, 2012
-
the engulfed series is a little deeper in scope of play and the rules for both games kind of vary becaseus of european and pacific theaters…to me a & a is the way to go…
-
when are we getting more info on this?
-
hopefully soon…im already counting down the days to these two 2nd edition games

We got the preview of AA 1941 like 1 month before the official release I hope it is going to be like this with those two.
But I don’t even know if Djensen know about the re release because he did not post the flyers on the website front page like he did with 1942 2nd ed and 1941

Very nice I have been waiting for these to get reprinted for a while but is axis and allies global better then the Europe engulfed and Asia engulfed games (they combine as well)?
The 'Engulfed games are certainly great games, but they don’t combine as smoothly as Global does. I like both, but just get to play A&A more.

Is the map actually any bigger than the old one? I just measured my pacific map and it is 35X32
-
-
I’m wondering what “the big selling point” is to people that already have global?

I’m wondering what “the big selling point” is to people that already have global?
My question exactly. Other than looking on ebay for some new italian/anzac (if I care), what am I actually getting?
-
I’m thinking they are doing beta rules plus new ANZAC/Italian units and between the two they are hoping the game sells.
-
They’re also reprinting Vegas Showdown, which I think is a fantastic game.
Too bad they sold Fortress America to Fantasy Flight Games.
Anyway, I guess I was on vacation when this broke and I just found out today so here’s the “news” story on the front page: http://www.axisandallies.org/p/pacific-1940-and-europe-1940-second-edition-announced/

Any idea when you will receive your preview copy?

Any idea when you will receive your preview copy?
He normally gets his preview copy about 3-4 weeks before the game is released. So in a week or 2

Awesome
Thanks -
I need to contact Wizards to see if they’ll send a copy, we’ll see.

@CWO:
Has anyone relize the pacific box description there is no COUNTRY UNIT PIECES
Good catch – the second page of the Europe flyer lists 610 plastic miniatures while the second page of the Pacific one makes no mention of miniatures. It also makes no mention of a rulebook, whereas Europe does. Plus there’s the two-boards-versus-one-board part that’s already been pointed out. It looks like whoever at WotC prepared the two flyers did a crummy cutting-pasting-editing job.
There needs to be a Flyer 2nd edition
:-D -
I got mine pre-ordered from Miniature Market. This is such a nice second chance for those of us that were of the thought that who needs a new Europe and Pacific when there were orginal version made in 1999 and 2001…although still fun those two games seem like Candyland compaired to this global behemoth. Lucky me! :-D

I’m glad it’s available to those who missed out but unless it’s significantly different with many new sculpts I’ll probably skip it. $180 after the money I’ve spent on new A&A stuff this summer will be a Hell of a lot for just a fixed map and AAA units for ANZAC and Italy. Not to mention the fact that with so many screw ups in the two new games there will probably be more wrong with his one. We has the Alpha 3 rules so they’ll really have to wow me to get my money for this one. Plus I’ll have to have t mailed somewhere else lol. $400 on A&A in the last two months. (don’t tell the wife lol)
