Hi Galendae, it is tough being a newbie in this very unforgiving game. Let me guess the strategy? Germany bum-rushing Russia and taking Moscow before the other Allies can get in range to help. Right? There are plenty of players still trying to figure that one out as well. Practice a lot and work out a strategy that works and fits your style of play. Playing the Allies is a real tightrope act for sure! The Taranto raid and Battle of Tobruk by the London-English on turn 1 will certainly help neuter the Italians in the Med and start you in the right direction! Good Luck!

Taiki, the sooner you can finalize what the Global NO’s are, the better. I for one, hope you have some of them wrong and/or forgot some :-)
-
thanks for a speddy posting of pics. find that cable.

Emperor_Taiki,
I’d would be extremely interested to know the political situation between USSR and Japan in the global game.
1.Do they start at war?
2.Can they declare war whenever, or are their turn limitations?
3.Does a Russo-Japanese war affect anyone else’s neutrality?
4.Does a Japanese declaration of war on U.K. and U.S.A. automatically bring Germany into the conflict?
Thanks again for all the info thus far!!!

From what I heard from Larry:
1. No, they do not start at war.
2. Yes, they can. No limits.
3. Nope. It’s a purely Soviet-Japanese war.
4. I’m pretty sure, not sure about this one though.
-
1-3: ditto what UN Spacy said
4. Once the US enters the war it can attack any axis country. -
-
I’m not sure if you managed to catch it, so I’ll ask again: did the Free French units help out the Allies in any way after France fell, or are they just smudges of blue on the map? :-(

I noticed that a lot of the pics posted today appear to be of the opening setup. I also noticed the U.K. carrier has two fighters instead of 1 tactical bomber. So…
1. Are these pics not the opening setup?
2. Did y’all setup wrong?
3. Is the global setup different from Europe setup?
4. Are there misprints on the setup cards like in AAP1940?
Thanks for the previews and pics!!!

On turn one, germany is concerned with defeating france and sinking UK ships. the more air they commit to one mission they have less to commit to the other thus raising the chance of one failing or suffering signifigant causalties.
The africa inf are pretty useless and just stop blitzs, the syria inf is useful for boltstering egypt.
If you protect the french fleet on turn 1 they can be useful later in defeating Italy.

As far as I can tell there were no production errors.

More pics!
Nice. I like the one where the Russians control Korea! :-)
It looks like it’s a whole different ball game for UK East and ANZAC when you add Russia to the mix and the USA has the potential to build a lot more!
-
In the game with the Plexiglas, it looks like Germany took UK.
-
Did a game really happen where the soviets had a carrier and 8 battleships?

I think the red chip under the battleship was to show that it was damaged, not that there were 6 battleships.
-
Good work, thanks.
Question:
There is no separate setup for the Global Game? :?
-
Good work, thanks.
Question:
There is no separate setup for the Global Game? :?
there are a few minor additions - mainly 3 sets fo 6 infantry each in 3 of the eastern USSR territs. I think there’s a couple infantry in just a couple other places.

Good work, thanks.
Question:
There is no separate setup for the Global Game? :?
+18 soviet inf on the pacific board, and one ANZAC inf in Egypt
regarding the soviet fleet, yah thats a joke . although the soviets can buy a carrier and a battleship on turn one in the global game.

Is it possible for the Brits to slow down Italay’s African conquests?
Have you had a game where Italy invaded Syria or Jordan to get the 3 Iraq inf and attack Egypt from the rear?

I’m interested in both these things, as it seems, from what I’ve seen and heard, that Italy is hugely overpowered. It seems that if they put their mind to it, British/French Africa will fall no matter what.
