You will like it, other than sometimes being outside of Triple A, it’s better, and of course it’s the legal way :D
-
If only we could get Krieghund to play 10 games a year in the league. Or 2 or 3.

Why is that?

He wrote the rulebook, he’d straighten us all out, and faster
This was not an easy battle to figure, especially with follow up attacks likely. I am super lucky the dice gave me an edge. I know it might be your hail Mary, but I respect your abilities and tenacity too much to get lazy.
Lose 2 fighters, and one tactical!

Thanks for the compliment! Combat finished, I will complete the turn later this (UK) evening.

Thanks for telling me when the next move is planned,
Krieghund is Kevin Chapman, and besides Larry Harris he IS Axis and Allies. You can find his name in the rulebook. If you need a rulebook, I can find a link for you.
He answers rules questions at Axis&Allies Global 1940, pinned topic Global 2nd edition Q+A (AAG40.2)
He is a machine. Off the charts intelligence, and over all these years he still knows all the rules and has only had to retract an answer one or two times.
He answers questions within 3-5 minutes or sometimes a few hours, but years ago he deputized a couple of us, Panther and me, to help get answers out and go back and forth with explanations with players sometimes faster or to go back and forth with the questions. There used to be countless questions when it came out.
There isn’t that much need for that anymore. Anyway, that’s what the black “official Q&A” banner by my name and Panther’s name means.
I’ve given several wrong answers that Krieghund cleans up, and almost laid down my badge one time LOL but then I get some tough ones right. No, seriously, no one has hinted that I give it up, yet. -

@gamerman01 Scramble?
-
I am very sorry I didn’t check this afternoon. I didn’t realize “later this evening” would be that soon!
Another tricky choice.
This is an odd situation - I want to submerge the sub and scramble the fighter. -
Nope! Changed my mind. So many factors. I love this game.
Scramble the fighter, don’t submerge the sub, so all 3 units are in the battle.
I don’t want to be a pain, but in this dynamic battle I’ll have to ask you to check with me for casualty choices because I don’t want to anticipate the possibilities and try to decide what I’ll do in each one.
And it looks like it’s already time for you to roll on forum!!
Triple A will roll my sub first and if it hits, will of course take a sub off. But then you will have 1 or 2 subs roll, and Triple A will make me choose without seeing what your tacs score.
You could roll the battle in Triple A until you get to that point. If you score 1 sub hit and I have the choice between sub and destroyer, I will want to see your airplanes results too, in which case you could roll those 2 on the forum and we go from there.
So an entire battle like this could be rolled on forum, or you could roll in Triple A until Triple A is requiring a casualty choice prematurely. Hopefully you will be an expert at this by the time our game is done, and can teach others

For what it’s worth, I would actually advise rolling this one in Triple A until you get to a situation where a casualty choice is asked when it shouldn’t be.
Because there is a good chance the battle will be resolved in Triple A just fine (like if your subs both hit)Go to the forum if necessary, in which case you should stop rolling any more or choosing casualty choices in Triple A, then you can edit Triple A to the correct result when it’s known and Triple A won’t roll any dice that aren’t needed (to avoid confusion with MARTI and game history)

Because there is a good chance the battle will be resolved in Triple A just fine (like if your subs both hit)Okay, but if I get half way through a combat in TripleA and then need to take it to the forum what is the best way to this?
- Use TripleA up to that point.
- Post the save to the forum and declare that the remaining rolls will be by dicebot.
- Complete the combat on the forum.
- Go back to TripleA, run through the combat but then edit the result to match that on the forum.
-
Yeah, that looks good, and I have one suggestion from what I’ve found,
You can prevent any unnecessary MARTI dice. After you finish the battle on the forum, you can edit and delete all destroyed units. Then you can click the battle and no dice will be rolled because one side is no longer there.
You don’t have to do it this way, it’s just the cleanest I think.
If you don’t do it this way, to make sure your opponent doesn’t question, you could delay the MARTI dice a few minutes so time stamps on the e-mails are clearly later than when you rolled them on forum. So editing to final results before Triple A rolls any dice that don’t count is the best solution. I hope that makes sense.

Giving the above method a go. Looks okay in TripleA so far, as - due to the lack of sub hits by UK - I don’t need to ask the opponent (you) for casualties before all the attacking rolls have been made.
- The Italian sub’s first strike hit, so UK loses a sub.
- Remaining UK sub misses.
- 1 hit by UK planes.
Casualty?
-
I may have failed to tell you we were going away for 48 hours for unexpected death of natural causes of my 30 year old nephew.
We just got back, so let’s see here…
-
Oh! Fantastic luck for me so far.
Sorry I went AWOL for 48 hours in the middle of a little battle in the middle of a big turn. Thanks for waiting, I’ll lose the sub and hope for so much luck that my destroyer survives to kill other allied subs.
If I hit once or twice and you lose your sub, then I want to lose the fighter before the destroyer
Most players would probably just say max defense! I hope you’re not irritated that I made it inconvenient! -
Sorry to hear about your nephew.
TripleA isn’t giving me the option of taking the Italian sub as a casualty, I guess that is because the UK isn’t attacking with a destroyer and the UK planes can’t hit the Italian sub.
