Good game. At least I killed 90% of the Allied force in the process.
What did I do wrong?

Aside from the dice which likely leaned towards the Allies (I stopped tracking a few rounds in), I suppose I would recommend being a degree or two more aggressive with the Germans and play towards the center of the board (eating a few strafes in the process). I appreciate your avoiding strafe rolls as a priority but if I’ve learned anything in our games, its that when the game is balanced and against an experienced allied player, the Germans don’t have the luxury to remain stationary and not move - they should just try not to do any more than is necessary to maintain a competitive board position.
I know that as the Allies I need to be very aggressive as a matter of course. Other players might not know this and so your strategy of prioritizing avoiding strafes over fighting for control of the center of the board might work fine. Pending good dice for the Germans, that probably wont work most of the time against me as the Allies. I’ve also kind of learned your rhythm. I understand wherever I put a fighter, you will not attack as a rule. I’ve started to ‘abuse’ this the more games we play. “With other players I might put two fighters there but with SBY, I’ll just leave the one here and put this other one somewhere else.”
So in the fewest amount of words, at least when you’re playing me, you might need to eat a few strafes in some key battles for center board control. If the Germans don’t make a bid to form the plow it seems extremely difficult to recover in the late game.
