I must say that I cant get over my disappointment that the new A&A Pacific and Europe 1940 games will now feature cardboard units for the Major and Minor industrial complexes as well as cardboard AA guns, Air and Navy bases. I hope that creating plastic versions of these units will be a project that FMG will be willing to take up in the future.
Do any of you agree?
Bob, aren’t you being a bit presumptuous here?
I think that FMG will be pleased to look at this possibility if he makes money on the other project.
I hope their venture is successful and that they can make everything we would want.
I wouldnt doubt if they do. This is like WotC handing FMG a freebie! :D
The retards at WOTC dont understand the motivation of people that play games with plastic miniatyres. OK, so I see the rational with paper IC, ports and airfields, butt the AA-gun that follow the army really should be a piece just like the other units.
nice post!
The spelling of “butt” was a nice touch

That’s funny, that’s just the way Aldertag would spell it.
After FMG makes all those nice pieces, they should just go ahead and make their own game.

Oh oh, hold your horses, cowboy. One thing is to make plastic pieces, every dick can do that. Making a whole new game is another ballgame. You need playtesters, designers, rule developers, and who shall make the map ? Razor think you are taking water over head, man.
I am sure that Razortag will help us. Won’t you?
Don’t worry! We have this covered!
We are going to make Factories, Minor Factories, AA guns, Airbases, Naval Bases, Task-force Markers, bunkers and some sort or Rail-Capacity token.
This will be the final mould in the project and the finishing touch to the complete line of COMBAT UNIT products
Can’t wait to own all of your products.
I have searched FMG’s website and can’t find anything there in terms of the “nice pieces” they make. I have axis and allies the revised and world at war. I just bought advanced world war 2 and would like to buy some of the specialilzed pieces incorporated into the expanded versions of axis and allies. Does FMG sell them, and exactly what part of their website. I have only been able to find their combat dice.
Eddie
These pieces are currently in the works set to be released sometime this year. you can see sample pictures of what they will look like here:

Well, Eddie, if you can’t wait for FMG’s rollout (which looks like it’s going to blow the doors off anything I’ve seen yet, short of a very expensive set built up from metal miniatures), you might find much of what you’re looking for by trying the following:
1. Table Tactics’s line-up (Specifically their “Central Powers” & “Axis & Allies Accessories” sets)
2. The piece set from The War Game, which could be purchased separately from the game itself last I checked out their website
3. For infantry variants, there are numerous HO-scale minis you could buy off the shelf.
If you want a more detailed breakdown, I could give you some…
But if you can wait, I think FMG’s stuff will be new standard for quality and give you at least 90% of what you want, at least.
Oh, by the way: the Japanese never fielded anything close to a “pocket battleship.”
eddie had some good suggestions, but I will be happy with what FMG puts out.
I AGREE. The cardboard may take up less space but they are too hard to see with plastic chips and units stacked all around. @Bob_A_Mickelson:

Yes another good reason that I hate cardboard.
