I wasn’t saying that your idea was bad.
But yes, that makes sense.
The full color printed rulebook now includes the Global 1943 Expansion as well.
This reduces production costs - and it also has the advantage that players now have both Global 1940 & Global 1943 Expansions in one rulebook.
Please contact Cornelis Post at this forum, if you have any questions concerning costs, ordering and shipping of the rulebook.
Yea the biggest issue is triplea can’t distinguish which Border the Mines are defending. So there’s really no other way to do it. So whichever rules you wanna try first won’t matter much
Hi @markebeast
Mines must defend on a specific line. Since Mines defend at “2” against enemy land units - in both Combat Movement and Non-Combat Movement, there is an increased possibility that a land unit is hit.
We’ll look into that, concerning which Mines specifically defend which line…
I’m sure barnee can work out something.
@markebeast you have to use edit mode when using landmines in a rule compliant way. @VictoryFirst and i have found it to be just another step in game play. https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/topic/39280/barnee-axis-vs-victoryfirst-allies-g-40-expansion/237?page=10
The use of colored mines denotes which border they are defending. When LMs defend, you need to use “dicebot” or an equivalent to determine the outcome. If playing in “local mode”, you can use the built in triplea dice roller.
You also need to “hand roll” certain Paratrooper and Submarine battles using the same process.
If you prefer to have triplea do all the rolling for you, there is an option that does that, although it won’t be 100% rule compliant. Paratroopers and Submarines are slightly affected, whereas LMs play significantly different.
TripleA Landmines
The “armed” mines are D2 now. They only die after getting a hit or taken as a casualty. They roll separately from the rest of the defending units, so you can see if they hit or not.
You can place as many as there are “unarmed” mines, so you’ll have to player enforce any territory limits. They will defend against attacks from any border.
May be turned on in “Map Options”.
Due to triplea limitations, this mod will require more face to face style play, where the players need to work together to be as rule compliant as possible, just as they would playing in person.
Edit
Here is the discussion on triplea LMs https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/topic/36945/axis-allies-global-1940-house-rules-expansion/42?page=2
Since you and Victoryfirst are playing the game right now, using this procedure, it is great to know that it works.
We’re following your game with interest:+1:
@the-captain yea it’s been a lot of fun. Pretty smooth sailing really, especially for the first game
The full color printed rulebook is still available in few numbers.
A reprint will take place later in 2023.
Today, it is 2 years ago since we released the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion.
I would like to thank all of you, who is active with both game play as well as usefull comments and questions concerning the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion.

Happy Birthday !
What a great milestone to hit… congrats to you Captain.
Two years of fun, joy, and entertainment for the Axis & Allies community.
Two years of strategy and tactics brought to a much deeper level.
Or in other words - my favorite Axis & Allies game exists for two years now.
We should thank you for all the effort you and your playgroup put into designing this awesome expansion for G40 and showing off the true potential of Axis & Allies! :muscle:
@victoryfirst heh heh it’s only two. We all better look out :)
Yes a Big Thank You to Captain and Company. You and your Group have done an Outstanding Job.

@cornelis-post Thanks for the offer. We’re taking a bit of a break from A&A, but when we return to it maybe I’ll be in touch.
@The-Captain can you have an Army group deactivate both it’s Armies/Corps in order for a Panzer/Tank Army from a different TTy be active when attacking the same TTy as the AG and still get the AG 2 roll Bonus ?
@The-Captain When the Soviet-Japanese pact is active, Japan receives IPCs if USSR declares war on it. Is Japan able to buy naval units (i.e. transport) from these IPCs, or only land units? Can these be placed in any territory Japan owns (except for the ones that are attacked)?
No - the Army Group must be intact to get the extra 2-dice rolls for that Army Group.
During Non-Combat Movement you can change the combinations of Armies inside the Army Group.
Does this answer yor question ?
At pg. 22 in the rulebook (Japanese-Soviet pact) you can look at Note 2.
“The IPC granted to the violated Nation can be spent on the same terms as with the German-Soviet pact.”
Does this answer your question?
Yes, thanks for answering. I was confused by the sentence in the German-Soviet pact. It states the USSR can buy units - so I assume any type - but in that same sentence, it also states that these units are placed in any original Soviet territory, so that made me think naval units are discluded.
@the-captain yea what i meant was, if i have an intact AG in W UKR with 2 Waffen Armies and a Panzer Army in E POL and they attack Bryansk, can the Panzer Army be active and the two Waffen Armies inactive but still get the 2 roll bonus for the AG.
