Thank you, well played, the Italians had a bad round 1 and that enabled me to secure the Med early and focus on France and the Pacific. Thank you very much for the game.
My last attack with german fleet in sz110 was maybe a mistake from me.
Yes, even though it was very upsetting at the time, I think overall it helped the Allies as - without the threat of a German fleet - it gave them move room to maneurve. France did fall again, and without that loss of a round of reinforcements that might not have happened, but by then the Russians had started rolling into Eastern Europe.
I am busy with playoff games at the moment, but hopefully we can play OOB or BM again sometime soon.

I think its a very important point in my games. I have the same problem in 2 other games. In 1 game I could retake N/B and in the other is maybe same like our game. In OOB (but not BM or PtV as there are objectives) I beleive some players never capture N/B as either Germany and Italy specifically to make it harder for the Allies to maintain a bridgehead on the Continent.
I need to get better at supporting the Italians in the Med with the Germans, especially the Luftwaffe, as I think whilst the Italians are putting pressure on North Africa and the Middle East then most Allied players will prioritise saving that over attacking France, which then gives Germany that crucial window to take Moscow and then bring the air power back to Germany to counter any Allied landings in Europe.
