Recommended reading on Battle of Stalingrad?

Just as the title says. Can anyone recommend a good book or two on that battle?

“The heart of the 6th army”  by Heinz G. Konsalik

“Dogs, Do You Want To Live Forever”  don’t know the author but there is a film out w. that title and the book of course

you also wanna check “Podzun-Pallas books” they are from Germany but have english subtitle. The book Stalingrad was very good, it had all the time frames from Voronesh to the end of the pocket of Stalingrad…causulties, numbers of men fought and died, Divisions, Generals almost everything…it even mentioned the story of that russian guy who invented a AA-gun out of a bicycle and scrap…but it is more a documentry book

A great novel is War of the Rats, by David L. Robbins.

I’m not really looking for a novel.

Preferably one book by a historian removed from the battle, one from a German General or general’s staff officer and one from a Russian General or general’s staff officer. Alternately two from detached historians.

excellent book, i read it in a few stops at barns and noble.  i loved doing that, just read books over time there.
