    As a BID I usually assign it to the UK…

    Definitely a fig in Scotland and a sub in sz 98… There remains room for an artillery in Sudan (to eliminate the Duke of Aosta from the Duce’s undertaking).

    Giving all the bid to the Brits would be how I would go

    Hehe, not likely. I will try and get my head around it. Feel I have to give a proper analysis before proceeding.


  • This is a big combined turn for the Allies and it will get worse.

    US built good units of fleet and has positioned itself wisely in Pearl Harbor.

    China managed to take back Yunnan, which is important, although at some cost.

    UK built a mIC in Cairo, which can sometimes be a mistake. After a successful Taranto and ethipian crush, it should however be rather safe. Might be a problem of pushing away the italians from Alexandria at first, but on the otherhand it will be done in time.

    Taranto is however a sacrifice for both sides. The british ships in the Med are likely toast, so both nations will be stunted. Perhaps Italy is worse off, but we’ll see for the continuance.

    Italy now has a choice of activating Vichy. It will likely be done, since the short-term advantages are pretty awesome. Also, only one major naval battle can be executed, and I’d prefer to try and scuttle the fleet from z97 since it’s a nasty convoy zone. One advantage here is that the ac can’t soak a hit without leaving the fig hanging without space to land in. That’s a good retreat option if the battle doesn’t develop accordingly to the odds or better, which makes the battle even more of a good choice.

    It would be great to grab Greece, but it’s a rather uncertain battle since all air is needed in z97. Might soften the greeks for the german onslaught though.

    There’ll be no attack on the cr in z98, since it can be taken care of by the Luftwaffe and Italy can’t afford to dilute its forces.

    Because of the uncertainties on the waters, I need to build a des for all eventualities since UK can still hit the remains with atleast 4 air.


  • Also, it was a good move to move the fleet to z123. Supporting it with 2 figs was also necessary, since it may be attacked by 3 sub, 2 sb. Although slightly out of place, it is safe there and will rejoin the heat in a couple of turns.

    One alternative would’ve been to take out the 2 subs in z106, but it would probably mean no Taranto since preferably a des, cr, fig and sb should’ve taken it on.

  • Decided on attacking Alexandria after all. Few land units in the counter-attack decided the move. It’s slightly risky, but with the help of german air it should be safe even if losing 1 inf. Considering only 2 tac will be needed for Greece, so 3 fig, 1 tac are able to support the stack.

    Anyway, only 2 hits in z97. Casualties?

  • Ok, for once the italians didn’t mess up.

    No need to hit the cr since the Med-NO would not be activated anyway because of the fleet at Toulon. Perhaps Italy can achieve it next turn instead. Getting rid of the fleet in z97 was great news for Mussolini, who now heavily depends on the support from his dear friend in the north.
