@crockett36 i’ve done a review of our game up to and including the German turn. Leningrad, I think, is more important than I have thought. I also have thought about point of conflict purchases vs waves and supply chains. The loss of those planes in the early rounds should have caused me to replace them so that at the gates of Moscow I could have knocked louder.
This is aside from the mistakes of the exposure of my Japanese air force and subsequent failures in the attack on Persia. Unforced errors. I want to also consider my purchases. waves of mechs are just not deadly enough, especially in light of a wealthy Russia.

@crockett36 I felt like when I went for Egypt and fought the Luftwaffe there that it was an early defense of Moscow. That’s one of the reasons I went for it. It cost me too, but the British sacrificed units to help Moscow a few turns later. I went for the Japanese air force because I thought they had the potential of threatening my Med fleet. I haven’t played a ton of games against the AI in triple A but the one thing I remember is the Japanese always moving their air force into the European theater and making it difficult to protect ships.
I have never fought so much or so hard for Egypt. I had thought I would build up a larger land force in the middle east as a road block or potential offensive threat but that never materialized due to exhausting so many units over Egypt.
One mistake for me was trying the sea zone 92 stack with the UK airbase in Gibraltar. It have you Egypt on round one. I like Tobruk or Taranto as better options. But I wondered what a good player would do against the 92 stack and I guess I learned the hard way…

I don’t want to have your Japanese transports bring infantry and artillery to Midway to fight 3 fighters and lose the fighters to them. That’s why I asked about the scrambling with subs as escorts. If we are wrong about the rules for that then I’d like to reposition those forces if that’s ok. Thanks.
