Just in case I’ve done something crazy with Calcutta, please respond quickly so that I may change it before Andrew executes Italy.

This is it.
I can wait a few hours before finalizing.
Please give your input even if you like it and have no objections. A like-action by the heart-symbol will also be enough input in such case.

@trulpen Looks very good in the atlantic…if the germans stay with their air, even with a few extra italian inf and air, then the luftwaffe will be decimated keeping russia safe. If they run away then gib is back in allied hands, and an enormous fleet is ready to strike anywhere from Rome to Norway meaning germany has to spend in the west and not in the East.
The Us fleet in caro looks exposed to me…any reason why the uk bb didnt move up to help out? And calcutta will probably fall next turn with a purchase of a NB and AB in FIC, completely bypassing the yunnan stack. The jap fleet in sz6 may take out the blocker dd and then park in midway or hawaii threatening a fast pac victory if not guarded against, although it cant do that, attack the caro fleet and stage for india I dont think.
On the whole though, looks fairly solid! :+1:
-
Thanks! Of course missed to move up that bs from z54 to z33.
-
Have you done the math to see if India will hold up on UK4? He will have 8 loaded transports along with 21 planes. I don’t think you will make it. Don’t waste those UK troops in Yunnan.
I still don’t think that you comprehend Japan’s obvious plan in this game: take India by sea, leave China alone in the early and mid-game, and move the Japanese units into Russia.
-
I have not calculated. I’m lazy, so I’m asking you. ;)
I certainly know about this option, but haven’t looked deeply into it. Calcutta has clear priority over China. If stacking in Calcutta I should in that case have built 3 inf instead of 2 inf, 1 mech, but it’s a little late for that now. Not the end of the world.
-
I ran the calculations. He will win easily with a +52 TUV outcome. You will need to stack it with everything possible if you want to dissuade him from a J4 attack. Even then, it will fall if he wants it to fall, and my guess is he wants it to fall.
-
Then it shall be as costly as possible, so US can run J over in a couple of turns.
-
Ok, the change is then to abandon Yunnan apart from the 2 inf already there and the 2 mech, which will be able to swing back, and stack Calcutta. I’ll just check how Yunnan is holding.
-
why keep the 2 British troops already there? nobody is attacking Yunnan. Nobody is attacking China.
-
Because that’s the only thing pressuring FIC and Malaya.
-
@trulpen Pressuring FIC and Malaya? I am so confused.
-
I’m sometimes following the great maxime of attack is the best defence. ;)
-
@trulpen India is falling on J4. This is not about a counterattack. Your forces are going to be wiped off the face of the map. He is not going to waste his precious land units on an attack against Yunnan. If that was his plan, he would have done a different J1 opener and saved a bunch of troops.

At some time J needs to start focusing east. They can’t afford to just have their air-force stacked in FIC forever. There’s a mIC there. It’s extremely valuable territory for J.
If UK puts pressure on that specific territory, J has to account for it. It binds resources to the defence. Maybe.
Likely J will stack up with a lot of land units there as well, so this is more or less hypothetical, but let me put another perspective in here:
I’d rather have those 2 inf on the board than let J kill them off far too easily in Burma.
-
If he attacked those Chinese units, he would lose 4 land units and 6 planes. Why would he do that? That would make him miss his prime objective of a J4 India crush.

I fully agree.
-
retreat what you can to India. retreat the rest to Burma. It won’t be an easy attack on Burma because he has no land units. He will lose planes to strafe off the soldiers. Or he will need to transport troops that would have been used on J4 for the India crush. Not the worst either way.
-
If you can, have Egpytian planes in Persia to reinforce India if that makes sense on UK3.
