Ive seen it tried many times against me, but its a side show. you need a combination of events. You need to make a thousand cuts against an enemy and it will die quickly. Keep hitting France, Karelia, Italy, Benulux, Norway and you will win
Best Axis & Allies chips ever!
-
I just played my first game of 1942 Second Edition yesterday, and I really loved the chips that came with that game! I got the impression they were probably a cheaper chip that Avalon Hill used to save some money, but I thought they were great! They locked together nicely, they were smaller, thus not using up as much valuable map space, and the softer plastic didn’t have the clinking plastic chip noise of all previous chips I’ve ever played with. I’d like to replace all my chips of all my versions with these, if I could find them for sale, and it was cost effective. HBG has a replacement bag for sale on their website, but it is out of stock. Does anyone know where else I might look?

I think your best bet is going to be eBay. People buy game sets and “part them out” (split the game into its components and sell those components separately) on eBay. I’d search for either “axis allies 1942 second edition part” or “axis allies chips”.
If your searches come up empty, you can set up a search and then click “Save this search”. What this does is uses eBay to search for you: if a new auction comes up that fits your criteria, eBay will send you an email. The rest is up to you.
Good Luck!

Post something in the Marketplace. There’s actually a lot of people who really don’t like those and might want to dump them.
Also, Zombies reverted back to the old chips so I’m guessing that all future games will use them.

Just checked my box to see what the chips were. Sorry, I too think they are great chips so I’m not selling. :-)
-
@robert-t HAHAHA!!! Excellent taste, my good man! ;-)

@Mill-Creek I believe A&A 1914 also used the same chips. They came in light and dark red and blue colours. I will double check today if they mesh with the 1942SE chips and let you know.
Different colours would denote different amounts.
If so, it might be easier to get these chips as people bought second copies for more pieces.
Just a thought.

Just checked the chips in A&A 1914.
They are the same as the ones in A&A 42SE.
So, more reds and blue(s) chips for you to use.
HBG might have these in stock.
Happy hunting.

HBG has 22 in stock bags of chips for 1914.
$2 a bag of 60 chips.
15 red/15 dak red/15 light blue/15 dark blue.They have 5 bags of chips for 1942 SE.
$5 a bag for 40 chips.
25 grey/10 green/5 red. -
@robert-t Kinda makes me want to buy some more myself.

@djensen shipping outside the US is killer for me though. :-(
Thankfully I own two copies of each game, so I’m set for chips. :-)
I wish shipping was less though, but when the order cost is less than shipping, it is hard to justify.
Cheaper to get a second copy of any game used or on a good sale.

Thanks, guys. Good catch on the half bag for $5. I missed that one. I think I’m going to hold out for the full bag for $7, when/if they get them back in stock.
-
@Mill-Creek Maybe @HBG can answer that for you?

There are currently 4 1/2 bags of chips available as of this morning.

@Jaybird Out of stock when I checked just now. Thank you for trying to notify me. I don’t know why I got this notification so late.
