RE: Brit Strategy
About tech rolls, I have found that someone who “never buys tech rolls” is limiting their options. Heavy Bombers IS NOT THE ONLY GOOD TECH. Industrial tech is always good(infantry at 2, tanks at 4), super subs is usually good(remember that subs have a 1st shot attack, can flee, and only cost , Jet power basically guarantees one hit per fighter when defending, LR aircraft gives so many more options(fighters from US to Moscow!), and rockets are really a free SBR per turn that cannot get shot down.

RE: The general returns
Hi, I left A&A in March and came back about a week ago. It’s amazing how much has changed.
Welcome back, General Campbell

RE: Kremlin
FYI, if a page won’t let you cut or copy, and you have netscape, right click and “open link in composer”. Then you can copy. It is a lot easier than typing it out.

RE: What do you do as Germany T1?
The only problem with that is that it makes Germany more of a tempting target for the allies, not that it wasn’t already.
Otherwise it sounds good.
just do not do it too soon as they need those tanks early on as an extra buffer. -
RE: Italy
Germany is dark blue. USA is tan, UK is green and Russia is red.

RE: Thwarting Yanny
Scientists who care about science vs. religion, because they think science disagrees with religion, are religious as well.
1)First went because of parents choice, then “realized” it disagreed with science and became atheist. Then realized it didn’t(two years later), and in fact all science that does is at basic form illogical; and became christian again.
2)I am christian(I don’t care about the denomination, but my church I attend is baptist)
3)I think other religions should be tolerated, as that is what Jesus would have wanted; even though they have been mislead (sometimes by people seeking personal benefit)Christianity isn’t really a religion.
Religion: Man seeking God/gods
Christianity: God seeking us to return to him. -
RE: Concealed Carry Law - My bet is most A&A players are for it.

Concealed carry permits are a tool for law abiding citizens to let police know that they are protecting them selves without appearing aggressive. It is perfectly legal for me to walk down my street with my pistol hanging off of my belt. Exactly, what kind of a criminal will rob a store with a baseball bat instead of a gun because using the gun to do it is illegal?

RE: Risk 2-Help!
It will save on exit, from the start of your last turn. If you want to back it up, find the save game file in the RISK2 directory and copy it to another location.

RE: Physician Assisted Suicide (kevorking)
If someone wants to kill themselves, there are several ways that they can do this on their own. No need to give the doctor the right to kill them or to make the doctor do so. If you joined your proffession to help people get well, (and went through a lot of school as well), You would be in an awkward situation if you were told to kill someone. Could you make a choice like that(PAS)? I don’t think I could.

RE: Did you ever play alone?
I play alone sometimes, but I rarely finish

RE: I dislike Tech roll´s
Tech rolls are a gamble sure, but they won’t lose the game unless people pour too much money into them, (like 90 IPCs). They add flavor to the game and, like was said earlier , another dimension.
PS To get two exact messages, push submit twice, don’t do this on purpose -
RE: Taking on Russia
That is why the US, and/or the UK need to turn up the heat in SE Asia in order to stop/stall Japan.

RE: Strategic Bombing: Calculating odds
As for the USA, if they just buy bombers to strat bomb Germany, and if that is all they do, then Germany will have time to take and defend Africa, while Japan marches through Russia’s back door(without a Sinkiang complex) But after Africa has been secured, if one decides to focus on bombing, then don’t just but bombers, 4 out of 6 technologies benefit an Air force (Jet Power, Long range, Industrial tech, Heavy Bombers). And Rockets add another SBR each turn that cannot be shot down.

RE: Strategic Bombing: Calculating odds
You are overlooking a very basic thing about bombers, they are not restricted to only doing SBR’s. If you get a bomber and use it for a turn or two to SBR, you may then take it the next round and take advantage of its high attack roll. I agree that buying bombers simply for the purpose of SBRs is a waste of money(unless you got heavies). I prefer to use Germany’s bomber to support attacks on ships, especially against the US East Coast. My point is, if you stick to a rigid method of only using each bomber for one purpose, you lose room to maneuver.

RE: The Rule of Averages
I agree with Ozone
If you really want to have very little chance involved in a game, go play checkers or chess. HOWEVER, if you want to go ahead with this house rule, I suggest that youinstead implement a handicap against a player if he is often rolling very good rolls and the game is ceasing to be fun to all parties. I would think that the way to do this would be to deduct a couple IPCs form his income. OR you can make him the side that usually loses(probably the axis, but maybe the allies) -
RE: Pearl Harbor
Battleships suck unless they are 2 hit
The part about taking Austrailia; that always needs to be done turn 2 or 3 -

Man, who are you playing against? If it’s a human being, then I must request a briefing of your strategy–these results are incredible! I figure its a good game if I (as Germany) still have a Navy on the last turn…

The part about IC in Switzerland and taking Austrailia was refering to the Japanese and what they could do to help Germany and lower UK’s income, sorry if I wasn’t clear
