Maybe when someone signs up for the playoffs, they state which playoff they want to be in. And there can be three playoffs: OOB, BM3, and PTV

Since I first presented the idea of 3 different playoff tournaments, I thought I should weigh in again. I think that it is well established that 8 games played is the minimum standard for qualifying for the “League Champion” playoffs, but only because there are plenty of players that can qualify. After reading Tizkit’s post, and seeing that his 2020 3-0 record came purely from the 2019 “2nd Playoff” playing all OOB against reluctant opponents, I see that there needs to be a separate OOB tournament, and perhaps the threshold for participating in that one is 3 games minimum overall. I like the idea that Gamerman had of waiting until July 1 to establish the minimum games to qualify. A minimum threshold of 3 (instead of 8 overall) isn’t merely to accommodate Tizkit, but all of the other newer league players who invariably start in the league with only knowledge of OOB G40 rules, but will not have time during the year to do 8 games.

Most likely, there will be plenty of P2V and BM3 games played that the minimum qualifying standard for those tournaments will be the traditional 8 games played overall, and maybe 5 games played within the particular ruleset (either BM3 or P2V)

If more than 8 players in any playoff group (OOB, BM3 or P2V) qualify for their respective tourney and want to participate, there can be additional “2nd Playoff” tournaments set up as we currently have.

Well, that increases their value significantly. I wish I would have known this earlier. It would be easy to say that in the “notes”. I suggest the next update, that it says that in the notes.

Very good overall G1, especially since in my last game, Germany lost in France on their G1. I got 4 hits in 111 before withdrawing. You can swap out the Fighter for the damaged BB if you wish

Very good Allied moves… gives me a lot of bad options to choose from…

I like the system the way it is. I really don’t want to play anyone that is not competitive with me, and neither would I enjoy playing someone who is going to smash me. The system now allows you to find an opponent who you can pretty well tell how competitive the game will be.

I think having the minimum for playoff seeding is 8 games is just about right. I didn’t make the regular playoffs this year, but I was seeded in the “second playoff” and in the “second playoff”, any player can enter even if they had not played 8 games. So everyone gets accommodated.

I guess that is later, during the American turn

Edit was to correct an evident bug in the program. I took a fighter as a loss in the battle in 98, and it chose one of the fighters that originated in So. Italy. It should have taken one with the least amount of movement left, but it did not.

Actually I think Triple A has always asked if you want to scramble from an airbase against a sub only attack with no DD present. Since they can’t ever hit the sub, it is always just a useless scramble

@dawgoneit Don’t need a default for playoffs… if you don’t want to be in the PTV tourney, don’t sign up for it

@AndrewAAGamer I agree that 8+ league games overall should qualify you for the playoffs in general, but in order to be in a particular tourney, you should have invested some time, and 3+ games sounds reasonable in order to compete in that particular flavor, whether it be OOB, BM3, or PTV

@ksmckay As Tizkit said in his post, that the playoffs are the most enticing part of the league, and if that is so, and players know there will be a OOB G40 playoff, then likely there will be far more than 16 OOB league games played by Dec 2021, as players that want to play that version prep and prepare for the playoff.

@ksmckay Well, that may be true. We shall see. What is for sure is that the default needs to change, or be eliminated…
