The Republican party is not currently controled by Christian Conservatives? I sorta thought it was… The White thing I can’t speak to. I thought the majority of supporters was white, but I have not looked at numbers.
Dean is the Democrats designated whipping boy. He’s gonna jump out and say what people ALL would be admitting if they where not afraid. That’s his job at this point. To take the heat for pointing out the obvious.

CC,
Crud. Wish I woulda read this before I opened the bottle! :) I woulda still opened it course, but I like to be informed.
I don’t really drink much. I will probablly put away 12 oz or so. Decent amount of wiskey, but I don’t drink often. I am certainly feeling relaxed atm. -
RE: Introduction Thread
Well I really like the hard stuff. I kinda wish I had never tasted really good booze. I am a poor boy. Wife gets me the stuff you can either drink or clean lime deposits off your shower. Bright side is, if I pass out in the John what I spill will clean the floor really good. Just don’t get any on your shirt. It’s like that scene in Aliens when he gets the acid blood on him. Cheers! See you all tomorrow! Or maybe later. Don’t expect me to be up to these high standards though.

Naw. I drink Wisky and I am a wuss. My version of drink heavily probablly would not even get Dzrt started. Put the kids to bed then pull out the bottle. Only thing I will get is a decent nights sleep. CC could tell us why that’s bad. Whatever, I need sleep!!!

RE: Introduction Thread
I never turned it off before. Plus I have comepletly lost my mind. I plan to drink heavily tonight. Stress at work has beat me down.

“but I’m not going to get into my personal life…”
How can we have a club if we don’t know anything about you? Are you sure your not a Conservative just trying to find out our secret plans? I been reading allot about the department of homeland security doing stuff like that. Are you really a narc!? -
RE: Introduction Thread
I am the only one who put moderate on the poll?! Not what I expected.
-
RE: Introduction Thread
I am a Moderate, though I find myself being forced to back a Liberal stance lately. I am Pro Death Penalty. I am Pro choice with reservations. I support our right to bear arms (with limitations). I am religious in my own way. I have not found a religion that will suit me and the last few years I this has become more and more true. Not sure if I have changed or the tone. Either way I am at peace with it for now.
I have been married for 11 years I think. My wife remembers things like that for me. ;) We have 3 kids, all of which are wonderful beyond words.
I am a Graduate of William Jewell College. I am an IS Director for a large group of childrens homes. I am a City Councilman.
I believe that people need to be involved in their world. Like Gandi said “Be the change you want to see in the world”. Sorry if I butchered the quote.
War is an ugly thing, but when it’s needed I am all for it. I supported Afganistan for instance. Bush impressed me after 9/11 and in the begining of the Afgan war. Then… well if people don’t know how I feel by now they don’t read my posts. I have voted Republican more than I have voted Democrat. The ONLY time I voted a ticket, it was Republican. Bush has currupted a good party. Sad. Anyway, I am moderate and Indepenant, unless a hatred of one dude can change an entire ideology.
Oh I am 38.
Almost forgot. People always ask me about the Lizardbaby name. It came from Warhammer Fantasy. I played the Lizardman faction. One of the guys and I where bantering and somehow being a Lizardbaby came up. I think I said, something about being a true Lizard at heart or something. Anyway, Lizardbaby stuck and I have used it since.
I am pretty good at Axis I think. I used to play in tourneys etc. Now I just play for fun. I don’t memorize strats. I try and play like a General would. See the battlefield and exploite weaknesses and hide moves. My current group does not play much anymore. The game length is prohibative. I play Warmachine more than anything else. -
RE: Irony
Jen,
I gotta say, I am with Haxor on this one. Your profound hatred for the US government makes no sense to me. And the people you love REALLY don’t make sense. “fat cats”? Are you unfarmiliar with W’s background at all? He is the son of privledge/ intelligencia (sp). Take away those two things and he is a just a guy that can’t cut it in bussiness. -
RE: Irony
Rockets existed in a simple form since argueably 1 AD in China.
http://inventors.about.com/library/inventors/blrockethistory.htm#chinese
“The date reporting the first use of true rockets was in 1232.”Regardless, we won the war because there is an Ocean between us and England and they had the French to worry about. Not to take anything from our men, they where insanly brave. Just pointing out a fact.
Our best defence is keeping out military rooted in civilian life. As long as they are rooted in the same society as we are they will be far less inclined to become tools of a dictator. -
RE: Irony
No weapon I could own would protect me from the government if it wanted me dead. Certainly not my shotgun. Get real. Our army has Tanks. Stealth Fighters… Not that they would need them. Nope sorry. What protects me is information. An informed military and citzenry IS freedom. Power without information is a perfect tool for the next generation of dictator. Freedom of the press IS the United States. When a government starts vilifying the press start worrying. Can anyone say “Liberal Media”? Your being worked.

RE: Irony
Times change. I certainly have no desire to return to the days when the Constitution was written. Slavery was allowed, women could not vote etc etc etc. Times change and the great thing about the Constitution is we have ways to change it to fit the world it exists in. When the Constitution was written we could not protect our citizens. Bears ate people. Wars where carried out by nations in our backyards. People where their only form of protection. Do we still need guns? I have not pulled mine out from under the bed in years. I know how to shoot. I enjoy shooting, it’s just not important anymore. Being well informed is more important than gun ownership IMO. <shrug>It’s not a volitile issue for me though. Have one of my kids get hurt by some numb buts who does not secure his weapons and I will go insane though. I feel more threatened by that than the government or criminals.</shrug>

RE: Irony
Just wondering who wants mandatory ownership? :) I see no need to regulate sporting weapons and all I ask for on pistols is registration contingent on proff of proficiency. Like you have to prove you can drive a car before you hit the highway. Gimme that and I would be a happy guy. Have all the guns you want. I won’t get that of course but whatcha gonna do?

RE: Puerto Rico
Yeah, you could start another thread easy on that one. I think many people see it as a starting place for harder drugs. Dunno and have no immediate plans to find out. :)

I saw that CC. Pretty funny stuff.

RE: The National Hockey League … how much do you care?
CanucKev,
I root for the Blues because they are in my State, though we are VERY far apart. KC and St. Louis are literally on the West and Eastern boarders respecitivly. My Brother and I have thought about taking the drive to watch a game, but really that will probablly not happen. We are too old for the rode trip idea anymore. I did attend a Scouts game when I was a very little boy. They left when I was like in 3rd grade as I recall. If we had a team I would support it.
When the playoffs roll around I try and pick a team to support so I can get pleasure in watching it. I was a fan of the Great one of course, so I watched his swan song with the Kings pretty religiously. Heck loosing Gretzky hurt hockey more than the lockouts IMO.
If we get a team again I would think very seriously about getting season tickets, so I hope it comes back and I hope a team gets dropped in our (brand new) stadium. -
RE: The National Hockey League … how much do you care?
Haxor,
I am on the season ticket list. Cost $20 but now I am set as soon as I can afford the actual tickets. I just keep telling them to leave me on the list and I will buy em next season. Hee hee.
My Grandfather and Dad where crazy Cheifs fans. My first memory (literally) was when Dad and Grandpa took me to a Memorial Stadium game. Before they moved to the new digs at Arrowhead. Now I can’t remember how we did, I was only 4, but I remember the atmosphere. KC is an awsome football city. I did not make a game this year, but I like to get in at least 1. It’s just such a rush being there with such great fans.
