First:Transports must load one turn,then move and land the next?is this correct?
Not unless they’re carrying an allied power’s units. If they’re carrying their own, they can do it all in one turn.
Second:Fighters can be hit by ground units,correct?
ok thanks….I was jokeing on the color thing
Yes.Third:Was Purple Hitlers favorite color?

RE: IC in india?
In my opinion Italy should be Defeated with Strategic Bombing done by England.buying one bomber a turn and landing them in Gibralter (along with one Fighter per bomber)and haveing a English Naval force set up in the entrance of the med this will make the Italians worry about loseing the med and will use funding in expanding it’s fleet.By the time turn 3 rolls around you would have 3 Bombers,have them pound the Rome IC to dust also destorying the Italian air core.In turn the Italian player would want to build more Fighters to counter this or do it’s best to land in Gibralter and leaveing Afrika alone.Once the fleet outside the med is comparable to the Italian one you would procede to destroy it with Air/Naval fources and land troops in Itally puting an end to them.doing this will take most if not all of the English ecodemy to do.meaning the Americans would have to land 2-3 Fighter on the Island as a precaution.

RE: Suggestions for Germany?
If Germany is trading Poland as a dead zone, they are in trouble whether are not an IC is located there.
It is about logistics and getting INF to the front.What do you mean by “Dead zone”?
-
RE: KBF
correct. One BB or CA can attack for every land unit that is making an amphib. landing.
ie 2 INF, 1 Art could be supported by 3 BB’s or CA’s in the same sz for the 1st round of combat.
ut can they Bombard when you are not landing units?

RE: Can air units move trough enemy territories if there are enemy air units?
@Gallo:
We both agree that the movement is legal, since it’s not specifically forbidden by the rule book… but his complain is very soundable: all those zeros should be able to intercept my bombers (or other fighters if I had them)
Fighters in territories or sea zones being flown over cannot intercept planes. Only planes in the territory or sea zone actually being attacked may defend.
On another note i have alwase wonderd….when Fighters attack a territory that does not have any Fighters or AA guns in it and just Ground forces,do the Fighters attacking get to just keep rollin tell they have killed all the Infintry/Tanks?.I can not tell you how maney times me and my fellow A&A freaks have run into a situation where the Germans have these air forces attack a USSR territory with no AA or Fighters.So my queation is do they get to kill all the Reds or do they have to turn back after one round?
Ground units defend normally when attacked by fighters and/or bombers. The attacking air units can stick around for as many rounds as they like, or until they’re shot down, whichever comes first.
Thanks

RE: Suggestions for Germany?
The cost of INF is not the problem, its is the factory space.
If Germany has 45-50 ipc, then 10 inf is only 30.
Germany needs INF but it does not have enough factory space to place Inf as well as other units even though it has more ipc’s in AA50
A second factory would allow more inf onto the battlefield in succeeding rounds.
Maybe a Poland factory instead of France?For Germany to build an Ic i think is foolish.And Building one in Poland is not the best idea to put is politely.
I guess im thining more like a pirate becuase i alwase want to take one of the Russian IC,preferably the Caucauses.If Germany built one and something goes wrong and the Red army starts to puch the Germans west,then the reds will use the Ic in Poland if she was to build it.(she being Germany) and thats never a good thing. -
RE: Fighter rules
Ok so I’m new to the game of Axis and Allies and I’ve come across something that has been puzzling me. Now maybe its because I’m thinking to into it or I had a brain fart but say a fighter just attacks ground units, does that mean the ground units can’t defend because there is no AA or an air unit present? Or does the ground unit say a tank get to defend?
My other question to the game is do fighters only stay for one round of combat or do they stay there until the battle is finished?
Thanks partner,this question has been troublein my mind as well
I hate Wachin the Russians gettin raped by the Luftwaffe.

RE: KBF
Russia will have a very hard time stacking the front with two of its IC territories being hammered by naval bombardment every turn.
It is under my immpresion that BB and CA can only Bombard when you are landing troops from a Transport.
Please do correct me if im wrong. -
RE: Can air units move trough enemy territories if there are enemy air units?
@Gallo:
I’m playing with a friend and we run up the following situation:
My US Bomber can reach a couple of un-escorted transports… but only by flying over a massive Japanese fleet with 2 AC and all 4 fighters.
We know that air units can fly over enemy occupied territories – rule book says so.
But rule book’s picture describes bombers flying over tanks… not over a territory with enemy fightersWe both agree that the movement is legal, since it’s not specifically forbidden by the rule book… but his complain is very soundable: all those zeros should be able to intercept my bombers (or other fighters if I had them)
Is there any house-rule for that? any disambiguation for the manual?
thanks
Well if you ask me i would say they can and should.If the case is that they can not then why should Fighters beable to defend Territories.

RE: Suggestions for Germany?
I have found that Germany cannot take both Leningrad and Stalingrad simultaneously. Not enough units at the front to sustain the attack, even in 1941 scenario. The front units get so far ahead of your purchased units a coordinated attack is difficult.
Also, Germany needs to delegate fighters and subs (if you can afford them) to the Atlantic or you’ll be harrassed by Britain the entire game. If UK buys 5 destroyers turn one, the Battle for the Atlantic will soon be over anyway.
So I think defeating the USSR as fast as possible is the only way for Germany to win. All Germany and Italian land units should be pushed East. If Italy maintains one of its National Advantages it can receive 15 IPCs per turn for three tanks. I have been buying combinations of tanks and infantry with Germany.
I have won three games out of three using the Axis.
What you have found and what i have done are two separate points.
And i agree with you tat Germaney needs to be some what active in the North Atlantic,useing the German wolfpack and the Cruiser along with some airsupport can destroy it turn one.
After that basically all of the Luftwaffe would have to head East and support the pronged attack.

RE: Suggestions for Germany?
@Imperious:
I would never consider a factory in france until many more bombers appeared. What is the point of building bombers if the allies dont build any? in 41 you especially don’t do this because you play first and you just messed your position up by making a factory if the allies don’t build bombers. And to play the contrarians position in this i don’t believe by building a factory you prevent allied bombers, because you can always buy it the next turn if they go with bombers.
Well without any IC in France, Russia outproduces Germany with 12 to 10 (assuming no IC’s lost). Furthermore in the 41 scenario you can easily get most of your NO’s which gives you a income ranging from 40-50 (including some gains in Africa). How can you efficiently buy units with only 10 production capacity available? And don’t answer all tanks, because that wouldn’t work in the long run imo.
To answer this I would make my two pronged attack i described in a later post….You presure Karilia and Caucauses,the red player will have to chose save Leningrad or Stalingrad.He will then most likely do every thing possable to save Stalingrad because of it’s value of 4 vs 2 in Leningrad.This will allow the Germans to use the 15 IPC’s he would have spent on one in France for more infintry to protect France and NW Europe.The IC in Karilia will allow the Germans to produce Bombers to be used to strat bomb Moscow.In short in my own hummble opinion gettlemen,Germany building an IC in France is one of the most folly ideas i have ever heard.

Well when playing Germaney you start off with much more tanks,art,and a nice airforce.if you do what i do and make a two pronged attack in the east haveing fources take the Baltic States and Ukrain on turn 1,this will almost force the Russians to split what they make turn one haveing half go Karilia other Caucauses.this will make it easy for the Germans to take Karilia with it’s air power behind them giving them a free IC in the east and giveing them 15IPC’s to use on turn 1 they wouldent have if they buy a IC in France.

RE: MY review
@Cmdr:
I dunno, I’ve felt that the axis are too strong in AAR at times and that maybe Russia needed a boost there too.
I don’t know why Larry has it in for the Russians. Maybe he had one too many nuclear attack preparedness drills as a child or something.
Russia always had a strong military, the problem wasn’t lack of equipment, it was lack of experience, lack of motivation and last year’s technology. So why is it they almost never get equipment and this is the first time they’ve been boosted in income? (not like you have a prayer of collecting that income twice mind you.)
We don’t really need to screw around with NOs and bonus units etc. All we need to do is rule out any Russian-Japanese attacks until a capitol falls. That one fix alone would give Russia a significant boost in defensive power. (And it would still take 5 rounds for Russia to walk some of those infantry up to Germany, so it isn’t like a magic wand that Russia gets a mass of troops.)

RE: Unfulfilling Pearl Attack…
I was thinking…
My Father and I have played once and the first thing i did was split the japanese taskforce and land in Kawangtung and Borneo.The reason for this was to get the Japanese ecodemy boost and hurt the English ecodemy.
But then he deployed 2 Battleships to the west coast after i had destroyed the one in Pearl.He moved his carrier in the south pacific to the Australian waters.But then i thought…what if the Taskforce started heading straight for the westcoast along with the force in the solomans and take LA.this will almost force the americans to build in Washington and circleing the wagons.now the Americans will have arounf 40IPC’s to spend in Washington,most of which will be Infintry and the japanese will have 6 Fighters to support the ground force im thinking this will be around 4 infintry.The japanese will wait in LA for the Americans to attack them and try to puch them off,this is where the japanese air force will roll 4’s and destroy the American force,they will then make a run for The Capital(Haveing reanforced with the IC in LA) (assumeing this is 1941) P.S sorry this does not go much with the topic.

RE: Suggestions for Germany?
What about a factory in France? Building only 10 units is tough on Germany.
If Germaney was to build a IC in France,this is a recipe for defeat.When the Allies create a second front in the west they will want France because of the IC,by that im saying they will not have to use there Navy transports to keep a pipeline of forces.
they will just build them in france which will make it almost imposable for Germaney to push them back into the Atlantic.And this will bring the allies advantage of ecodemy(Assumeing this is 1941).While this is going down if it was me i would withdrawl almost all my forces on the Easternfront and circleing the wagons.P.S This is my first post.
