Has anyone tried building 1 fighter a round with Italy. I thought I would try this and it’s worked great. Every round I’ve bought a fighter with the Italians. What I ve been doing is flying them up to german industrial complexes to defend against USA 's 4 bombers. I ve worked on having up to 3 fighters at each major industrial complex between the germans and the italians. This has kept him from using bombers and using the Italian fighters in germany has freed up the German fighters to go and fight in other theatres. Also it s developed now that I decide to build an airbase in sicily which when the time comes will work like an aircraft carrier defencively. This now makes the italians a very tough prospect for the allied fleets in the Med. I now have 8 fighters and 1 bomber my navies got 8 destroyers, italy tough in hardware seems to be the way to go. Has anyone tried the fighter build doctrine with the Italians?

Yeah Gallipoli sure helped a lot. I understand it’s nice to feel like one’s country matters on a macro military level but it’s best to approach things rationally than with hubris.

Gallipoli was nothing! Have alook at the Western Front and how theAustralians turned things around for the allies when they Arrived. If your a Yank You can thank an Australian for being the only foreign commander to be given command of USA forces in a theatre of War in the Battle of Amiens which was the first battles fought by the Americans in ww1 and was a planning triumph by field Marshall Monash. They probably dont tell you about this on the History channel. The Australians and the Canadians won world war 1 by being far superior agressive seasoned troops and smart revolutionary tacticians. Gudarian the farther of blitzkreig achnowleges Monash as the First Commander to use Blitzing tactics.

Keeping Anzac under control.
In the game I’m playing now I’ve managed to keep Anzac from turnig into a little monster. What i did i think in the second round was I took new britain with 1 inf. My transport was safe as he couldn’t fly out and attack it. So this stops the anzacs from getting 5 dollars bonus also My opponent didn’t build a destoyer at the beginig and i was able to push a sub of queensland to disruptt convoys and take off two dollars. These things seemed to keep Anzac down as in other games we’ve played Anzac gets monsterous and is a real menace. Has anyone got some strategies to contain Anzac?
I love the Fact the anzacs are in this game its about time the yanks and Brits acknowledge the amazing contribution these two countries have made to the military conquests of the Western democracy’s in the last 100 years. If it wasnt for Aussies I think you all would have been stuffed that goes for world one in a massive way and world war to in a big way. Cheers.

I dont think the germans can waste time building a Industrial complex. I’ved used Mec Inf From Germany and I bought 4 tanks in the first round so by r5 I’m on Moscows door step with about 16 tanks 8 art and 9 inf and 26 mec units getting Mec units from Germany and also now lenningrad. The russians are losing money and can not pull away in the race to build inf foder. If you keep this up and the japs hassle from other side it puts you in with a chance to attack and win moscow. If russians make a mistake and send units down to the middle east or out to confront the japs your in with a big chance. I find spending the time building a complex plus also the money spent gives the russians to much time to gather their defence and makes attacking in a drawn out campaign nearly completely impossible.
Has anyone else had success attacking russia without the Germans buildig a complex. “Go for broke, winter isnt a factor!”(Chesty Wilmot). :-D -
RE: Japan strategy please
One thing that worked for me against china in the game I m playing now is that i attacked a stack of mixed brit & china units 5 inf and 2 art plus a chinese plane and brit palne in his first effort to form a front in yunnan. He felt pretty confident about holding, as all i could get in where two Mec inf but I could send in 17 planes all up (As we are playing OOB still) What ended up happening is he got four hits so i took the loss of the two fights but new that it was worth the risk as I had eliminated China’s main form of attack for future rounds. This has handicaped the chinese and is working great.If your playing alpha 2 ithink you dont have so many jap planes but I think if you thought about positioing yourself to do it early with the planes you do have it could be worth the risk. Also I send my Jap bombers over to help the germans early in the game to bomb moscow it sounds way out but all it takes is an airbase in suiyuyan. If done early in the game along with german bombing this can realy stuff moscow. The russians have a tendency to fly out and do attacks with planes so they cant get back to moscow Maybe 1-2 rounds Bombing runs maybe able to be made without the worry of interceptors. I brave the interceptors with my bombers as it’s only one roll of 2 or less for each fighter for 1 round of combat . you need Luck.

Also Building any extra Industrial complexes with the germans is a waste of time, Thats why I build a mec force for eastern front They get there quickly and you can build more of them then the russians can make men as the Russian income is dropping round by round by taking territory and Bombing.

Func- I said you sound like a dude because you kind of Havent given up on OOB like me and it sounds like to me anyway people didnt play OOB enough to fully comprehend and play test it. From my memory people started whinging after 1 week. Also it sounds like alot of people have some very short games 3-5 rounds and they get a result, how can this be, every game I’ve played has gone 15-23 rounds. I reckon it to cricket- there is 20/20 hit and giggle style or there is a test match which has five days where no player can hide and there abilites are shown for what they are. If your games are over before 6- rounds you arent playing properly or playing very able opponents or crazy ones for that matter. I’m interested in Alpha but I do feel I havent fully explore the strategic potential of OOB yet.
I would like another year of play so i can try all the different ways to play each country.

I was meaning Germans Starts it Strategic Bombing campaign r2, Japs start R4 flying from airbase in suiyuyan built r3. That is what is was meaning.

I must be behind the times But I ve only played 3 games and they have taken me and my mate 5 months to play 1-2 nights a week for 4-5 hours. We haven’t moved onto any alpha rules yet but I m interested by peoples comments and i want to get a copy of Alpha 2 rules. Can anyone help me?and Also how many games have people played before they changed. Each game takes so long it hardly seems like enough time has passed. Func sounds like a dude.

RE: Man up….attack a strict neutral.
My mate did it later in the game as the germans. He went from greece into turkey, which I didnt realise at the time does not require transports. Within 2 rounds I had 30 more infintry working for me as the allies. Attacking a strict neutral is last ditch manouvre.
