Are we talking about an amphibious assault?  Or no amphibious assault and no defending sea units?  If there is no amphibious assault or sea units to defend, then no attack as been declared, thus, no scrambling.  Then you can’t have your planes move on the combat phase.

The rules say that you can only attack zones that have occupied enemy territory/units in them, but is a special rule about scrambling that you can coast planes into friendly zones that may become hostile.

Yes it’s an amphibious assault on Italy by US.  There are no Italian ships in the sea zone.

If the defenders do not scramble, then what?  They fly back to safe territory during non combat?

Can you fly a fighter to a sea zone with anticipation of the defender scrambling his fighters? There are 0 defensive ships in the sea zone. So can you fly a plane there with anticipation? There are no carriers in zone as well.

I hate how you can land up north, accumulate more troops or deke without it bringing the U.S. into war.

Guess my question is, what would be the disadvantages of it happening?

I’ve played 2 games with my uncle and brother now and we just have not gotten around to using the ability to disrupt convoys.

Can someone explain to me how it works (better than the rulebook)?
Which countries benefit most from using this tactic?
Which countries cannot afford to have it used against them?

Hi Osu. If you are playing Alpha revised rules or 2nd Edition rules, then Japan cannot make a Major in China, even the 3 IPC ones. They are Chinese territories.
Only Korea can be a Japanese Major.

You have to p�ss him off with the Allies, so he attacks you as he sees your revenue climbing as you establish yourself in SE Asia.
Also best not to leave the Russians where he can attack them all in one go.

On J1, my brother attacked up north in Japan and wiped the Russian forces (18inf 2aaa).

He also purchased a Minor IC and put it in eastern china on the country with 3value, and the proceeded to upgrade it the following turn.

Meanwhile. He was taking Chinese territories each turn and moving in westward…on j3 he now moved all ships south making them ready to take the South Eastern islands and also get closer to Calcutta…

Literally, I felt like there was nothing I could have done to change the outcome of j1-3…

He’s now moving toward russia up north, has a Major IC and is pushing in tanks with it…it’s only a matter of time before he has 12+ going into India.

What could i do?
