Firefighting game with Axis and Allies system?
-
This may be a bad time, given events going on in the US right now, but I think there could be a workable firefighting game based on Axis and Allies. One side are the firefighters, which “attack” into hexes that have fire units in it, while the firefighters also have aircraft and fire trucks acting like tanks. The “fire” side simply possesses fire units attacking the firefighting side, trying to take territory to make more fire (it takes place in a forest, so a fire taking wooded area obviously is able to increase the ability to make fire units). The fire’s goal is obviously to take the firefighters’ “capital”, while the goal of the firefighters would be to destroy every fire unit in a short amount of time.
Thoughts?

@SuperbattleshipYamato It’s an intriguing idea. You would have to create rules for weather, wind and rain in particular. The fire can only move/attack in the direction the wind is blowing, for example, and maybe a d8 roll at the beginning of each round determines wind direction? Wind speed could also increase (or decrease) fire movement, construction of fire lines would impede fire movement (unless wind speed was high enough for the fire to ‘jump’ the line)…I don’t know how much of a market there might be for it, but I think there’s a game in there.

Thanks for the ideas!
