@Pejon_88 it was a big one. Pretty much even $$ in units lost but I was able to accomplish my strategic objective of killing that navy while keeping hopefully keeping enough alive. If I had to guess I went from a about a solid disadvantage to a slight disadvantage for now. Japan is still far to strong for my liking.

I think your strategy was sound considering the consequences. Yes, I think all Axis powers are quite solid. Italy may be able to help Germany fending off landings in the west and get that last VC, but no one knows!
