    Brits made a great move consolidating by Gib, with its naval and new air bases that could reach and sink the Italian fleet anywhere. Rather than sit around or expose my transports, I put a blocker DD in place. Nobody wanted to fight. I rolled 0-for 11 on round 1. Luckily, the Brits also missed. I guess you wanted to discourage me from trying your Axis Gibraltar move. I couldn’t take Egypt this turn, but will build up to it. Didn’t want to sacrifice the Ethiopian army by going north, altho it is still at risk going south. However, you have to choose between Iraq and Kenya.

    Yes, my British turn was to discourage you from going west in the Med. I let Gibralter fall to the Axis in a game against Farmboy last year, and never could get it back. Previously, I had thought that Gibralter was indefensible for the Axis, but he proved me wrong.

    However, the real prize in the Med is Egypt. I’ll need a wee bit of help with the dice, but an eastern Med battle is shaping up nicely!

    Taking out Cyprus early takes away 2 Brit N.O.'s, a significant amount for the country that plays a key role in the allied effort. You spent most of U.S. cash on 2 CV’s this turn, that was a serious bet. So I have Farmboy to blame for your Gibraltar opening gambit. Italy can still retreat to home waters if need be. However, the long arm of the Luftwaffe is never far away.

    Touche’. I knew that UK might move fleet to protect Egypt, but didn’t think you would invest in airbase and move in all planes., while still attacking Iraq and Syria. The dice were kind to you. In Syria and Iraq, you could have lost your ground troops and not taken the territories. And my DD could have given a hit. Now, your fleet is too strong to attack and Italian fleet and army are too weak to stay where they are.

    That airbase in Egypt is golden. I lost a game earlier this year when I DIDN’T put an airbase there to protect my fleet, and a bad-Allied-dice battle sunk my fleet. So, you may use your Luftwaffe to sink it, but as in the real war, remember that any airplanes you lose will have your best Ace pilots, and that will come back to haunt you later.
