Faramir (Axis) vs. Arthur Bomber Harris (Allies)

  • Yeah, the dice didn’t favor them.  I did have the Brits to clean up if I had needed to.

At this point the game is essentially over.  In Europe, Germany and Italy will struggle to make any progress very far into Russia; Africa won’t ever be threatened again.  In the Pacific, the Japanese might be able to capture Australia or India, but not both.  With the permanent loss of the two victory cities in mainland Asia, their income is too low to contend for the long-term.

The Allies are enjoying a 2:1 economic advantage.  I think that we can safely conclude that abandoning China is too economically painful for Japan.  Plus losing two victory cities makes it necessary to capture India + Australia + Hawaii + Western USA, an unlikely thing to happen with the reduced income.

  • There’s only 1 victory city in China I thought. I would fight to the bitter end but if you want to call it a game that’s fine with me.

  • Hong Kong and Shanghai are the two in China.  I just don’t see how you can possibly get a win on either side of the board.  Normally at this point both Japan and Germany should be earning 60-70 PUs.  The Axis can turtle down for a long time, but the slow road to eventual Allied victory is not particularly fun.

  • Ya I will concede the game to you.
