    Well played, I resign.

    I misplayed Rome, misjudged how much to invest in land vs how much to invest in sea units, should’ve gone more sea from the start, well played with Carthage.

    Also something went wrong in Parthia / Egypt part, but not sure what. Should Armenia just ignore Pontus and go and anoy Seleuclid, or just go all out against Bosporus? Would like to hear your thoughts on what went wrong on the Seleuclid side of the map.

    After that I just gambled turn 4/5 and lost, 40% off course is no good, but best shot I had…

    Oh yeah those were definitely some big gambles there and they didn’t go well  :-D

    Yeah I think you played most of the nations alright except Rome. If Carthage goes navy you have to match as navy is kind of OP on this map given they have 2 movement instead of 1 movement like on 270BC so can reach so many places.

    Armenia is an interesting one as it has lots of options being kind of in the middle of multiple fronts. Top priority is definitely defending against Bosphorus first then deciding whether to use any remaining forces to push towards Pontus, Seleuclid, or attack Bosphorus. Not sure what the best play is and depends some on what each of those does. Probably against how I played it would have been better to send some troops towards all those empty Seleuclid territories and pull some of their forces away from Egypt/Parth.

    Overall though, this map is not well balanced and shouldn’t be a tournament map. This is especially true with the weird barbarian neutrals as they cause too much randomness.

    I agree this map should go out of the tournament, definitely in longer games those barbarians can get very annoying and the randomness of picking a nation to annoy makes it very unbalanced.

    How do you feel about the Greek attack on Macedonia on turn 1? I could’ve retreated when you had just 1 unit left, but was afraid you’d take the 2nd Greek city on turn 1, which also seemed bad to me… It seemed all bad for the Greeks to me to be honest…

    I think attack and retreat is the best option unless you get really good dice. You are better off losing the second city as I don’t think there is anyway to hold that long term anyways.
