I loved the struggle for europe map!! How the guy created it himself. Its so dam big! And he said he has a pacific map already! Imagine how big it would be joined together!!
The Great War 1914-1918: Clash of Empires

The original post back from 2012 says this game has been play tested for 7 years. So this means this game has been in design stage for 12 years. Isn’t it a bit ridiculous for a board game to be in design stage for 12 years going in 13. Something smells fishy here.
-
Thats not correct. The game was not picked up by a company until more than a few years since we were playing it. Its not the case that its taken some company 10 years to develop this game. Once that occurred, the design was changed somewhat to make it easier to digest.
So nothing “fishy”
-
Couldn’t they hire a professional to write the rules?
-
We did but he “created” ideas that weren’t part of the game, so we hired another guy
-
Anything?

No new news. Will call Monday evening for update.

I feel like I fought the Great War after reading all of these posts. Can only imagine how imperious feels trying to get this done. This thread is almost as long time wise as the actual conflict.
-
I already submitted the work. The issue is the producer, but the good news is he is already pot committed ( no not “pot”) and spent money on development.
-
Have you considered using Kickstarter ?
-
Yes but Im lazy. I hope your heart will last till the game comes out. ( i remember you see)
-
I will just keep raising my expectations since more time must mean its getting better :-)
-
In a way yes, we playtest it as time goes on . IN that way we proof the games balance.

Old picture of a playtesting group from i think Arizona…
-
That is an old version of the map BTW, the areas are correct ( for the most part)
-
Just saw this photo. It looks really fun. I hope to play it in my lifetime
-
Where did you get those nifty armored car pieces?
-
not sure, remember I am not in this convention. These are people in other playtest groups
-
