In Search of A Real Answer to My Axis & Allies Problem

[b]I bought a PC Game in a Colorful Box called Axis & Allies (Copyright 2006) back in like 2006 or 2007 & because my 1.2 Ghz Dell Computer at that time even with Windows XP was not Big & Bad enough to Handle the Game that I just paid $20.00 for, the game sat on a shelf for a future date when I had a Computer that I could install it on.

That being said, as of about a month ago, I have a Brand New Computer w/Windows 7 that is Big & Bad enough to handle any game on the planet. The only problem is, that Axis & Allies Game that I bought 5 or 6 years ago isn’t compatible with my Now Advanced Technology.

I have installed the game & I have been playing it as much as possible, but after about 30 to 45 minutes of play into the game, sometimes longer, the screen freezes up or it goes into a Flashing Fit that makes it look like it is inside a Tornado & either I have to turn off the computer or the game simply shuts itself off, causing me to start all over again.

I have seen error messages such as “AA.exe” & things similar to that & that windows is looking for a solution to the problem. I have also read about, but cannot find a Hasbro Interactive Axis & Allies Latest Update Patch & or an Axis & Allies: Iron Blitz Patch.

Having read my post, can anyone help me with my problem?[/b]

:-D Thanks, but it may be a while before I challenge anybody online, as I haven’t been able to defeat the Russians at Stalingrad for over a month now. Mind you, I did actually capture Northern Stalingrad for about 10 Minutes & I have been IN Stalingrad numerous times, but the computer either kept freezing up or started producing more Russian Tanks than the Russians could ever hope to produce everytime I got close to getting somewhere.

I have also discovered that all of the cheat codes only work if you are on the allied side. Now if I had some Paratroopers, I might be able to defeat the Russians & link up with Rommel.

I have actually gone so far as to acquire 2 Airfields, but it just ends up costing so much money to bomb Cities & Groups of Russian Tanks that I have no money left for anything else.

One thing I have learned though, while quite effective against Armor & Personnel, Building Gun Emplacements costs money & ends up costing me Life Forces when I need to be attacking.

Here’s the funny part, the A/A Emplacements don’t shoot at all, but my A/A Halftracks do actually shoot at planes, but they won’t shoot at People or Tanks.

As for the BOMBER Advice, they cost too much & take too much time to acquire to make them worth having. My Best Advice for Myself is Attack Hard & Attack Fast.

DOODE!!! At Around 11:30 PM Tonight, after at least 45 Days of Battle I Defeated the Russians at Stalingrad & I have moved on to the next campaign where I must Take Australia away from the British.

Yeah, the only problem with that idea is that the longer you wait to strike, that allows the Russians (The Computer) to keep coming after you until you are ready to strike back & by that time, they are in your face destroying your base.

Now this Japan (Vs.) Australia Scenario is interesting as it is similar to the Crete Scenario, just with some added Oomph.

Japan Attacks Australia with among other things 2 Yamato Class Battleships, 2 Shokaku Class Aircraft Carriers, Landing Barges that come from The Battleships & 4 Engined Nakajima G8N Renzan “Carrier Based” Long Range, High Altitude Bombers. Somebody got carried away when they made this scenario.

:? snickle, frickle, grickle, crack  :? **I had taken Cairns & Brisbane & almost had the Central Beachhead Secure. I had eliminated my little island operations to gain money & had reduced My Primary Island Base of Operations by half for the same purpose. I had 2 additional Corp HQ’s on Australia, with Armor, Infantry & Mech Support in addition to a Complete Navy Force that I was using for Aerial Bombardment. I managed to take Cairns & Brisbane by a Combination of Banzai Attacks by Paratroopers that I had landed in the rear lines & had them attack each city simultaneously while those Cities & British Bases were being Bombed from the air. I had just lost 2 Complete Contingents of Massed Armor, Mech & Infantry & Paratrooper Banzai Charges on the Big British Base in the Center Rear & was sending in a 3rd Wave……And then the Computer Screen Froze Up & the game shut down…3-1/2 Hours of battle & now I have to do it all over again.

But the next time, I know what NOT to do.**

This game is set in a 1941ish Mode. I don’t suppose there is a 1940 PC Axis & Allies Game like what I have where I can try My Hand at Operation Sealion, is there?

:mrgreen: I Feel BAD Now, because I Defeated The British & Took Over Their Cities in Australia. It was a Combination of Land, Sea & Air that finally did it in for them. The wild part is, I could never make a stand on land with any amount of Landing Forces. It was a Combination of Massive Air Raids while I was performing Paratrooper Banzai Charges at the exact same time, sometimes Bombing My Own Troops in the process. Only took me like 4 Hours (+) that 3-1/2 Hours from last night.

Now it’s on to Kursk, where I just discovered The Tanks have Headlights that work.

**Well, even though the computer said I successfully defended the Beaches at Normandy & I won the Battle, twice now I haven’t done anything but retreat in order to regroup & the second time I didn’t even get to fight anyone before Rommell’s Forces just gave up & “WE” Lost.

However, having won “The Battle” the previous day, I was able to proceed to Operation Sealion.

Today it took Me about 3 Hours, but I Conquered ALL of England & I got to watch The Cinematic End to The British Isles, but not to The Empire, where I now find Myself as Japan Invading India in an attempt to bring The British Empire to it’s Knee’s.

It doesn’t look like this is going to be easy.

I also need to go back & see if I CAN Repel The Invaders at Normandy as well.**
