Good ideas.
FMGC 2013 - Planning, Roster, Suggestions, Invites

I know a lot of dirt cheap motels if you’re interested in bringing your own sheets and pillows (don’t bring a black light).
-
We’re a pretty scummy lot. More interested in something closer than where we were. On Mapquest the Best Western looked like walking distance.

YA, but what about stumbling distance? you would have to rent a cot in the museum.

Hah, I told you it was nowhere near walking distance. ;)
Unfortunately that’s the closest hotel/motel accommodations to the hall. If the event gets any bigger and has to move out of the RCAF Hall then it may very well end up at somewhere like the Best Western conference room instead (in which case you could stumble to your room easily enough).
-
Or drag the bed and cooler right down to the conference room.

The RCAF Hall for the Best Western conference room? HELL NO WE WON’T GO! I would rather the attendance be capped, and weekend passes sold at $100 each.
-
I agree. The hall is a much better room than we could have even imagined. Perfect backdrop to a wargaming weekend.
-
I totally agree with that one, what an awesome venue. Put up tents to store the extra tables and chairs in them to make for more usable space inside I say.
-
Yeah lets just tent rental

I mean, you can justify the rental/offset it purely by sales…
-
I got a tent that’ll fit my Global table, and it’s fully licensed by the state of New York.

If the 1914 game is out by then, I’ll buy a copy and bring it. Anyone interested?
-
Hells yeah!
-
I will have to pull out of the 1939 game I said I would join, but I didn’t see 1914 coming when I agreed to play that… so I might be interested in joining a game of 1914.
-
I don’t think my brain could handle that 1939 game.

Hopefully I’ll get my review copy in February.
Also, I’m probably going to stay at the Residence Inn in Whitby or near Young Grasshopper. I had a ton of trouble sleeping at the Best Western and I was groggy the entire trip.
-
So what are the realistic chances of having a copy or two of 1914 at FMGC2013 in April?
-
The Boss will most likely bring his preview copy that he will get in February.
-
Indeed, I should get it by late February or early March.
I really hope we can get dates for FMGC13 in January. Tickets are much cheaper 3-4 months in advance.
-
same time same place works for me.
what its Hitlers Birthday and at an Airforce base with a WWII museum to boot,if it wasnt for Adolf there may have been no WWII which would mean no A&A games….argh!!! thats to much to comprehend
see ya then -
I would like to throw my name in for 1914. I’m opening a new thread for the interest for this game at FMGC.
